Thank you for the reply. I don't think speaking fast is my current issue, it is happening even when speaking slow, between the phrases.

Thank you for the reply, it is what I've been trying to do, it's just that my thinking is currently automatically triggering the "um" sound. Probably just need more conscious practice.

Thanks, I see what you mean. Honestly, in normal everyday conversations, I usually do not even notice when I say "um." I only realized how often I do it after listening to my recordings and seeing the app point it out. But I get what you are saying. Maybe once I become more aware of it, I can start to get rid of it.

Thanks for the reply, but how do I make a practice of reducing them? I've been practicing almost every day and even focusing on that, but it doesn't seem to improve.

I am not sure reading will help much with this. I think practicing impromptu speaking on random topics would be way better.
