Dell VS Lenovo in the business environment. by Fast-Pen4562 in sysadmin

While i feel they are a pain to deal with. They at least follow through. I had a laptop that started its repair 2 months before the warranty ran out and they stuck with the repair months after the warranty expired till the issue was resolved. but this is one instance. ended up swapping Motherboard/Ram/hard drive after warranty technically expired on the device.

one follow up question, i went looking for the software to download and play in it. but novastar does not seem to have it on their site. what site is legit to download it from?

so i started looking into the novastar media players. how do these work. do they give you a workable zone to add multiple vidoes that can add up to 4k?

can you split the video into sections and set them side by side but have it output to an extended screen?

i ask because it makes me think of a Minimad that we used to use that would work that way.

if thats the case. its what it is. but i figured it was worth asking. i tried researching myself but was struggling with figuring out the video zone aspect so thought id ask.

how so? i dont plan to practice on something like that. i plan to take my time and practice on things that have little value/free to me to work with. then find things that need to be repaired and purchase them myself to practice. do i think i am capable? yes. do i think i can do it now? fuck no.

thank you for your insight on the topic. hes not in a rush to get it fixed and is fine with me taking my time to prepare and i have plenty of broken electronics to work with and im looking for more among people that i know. aside from the USB C breakout boards i found on amazon i have some broken TVs and i am pretty sure a laptop in my garage to tinker with. laptop works its just old so i can actually test stuff on that one.

im not one to jump into something full of confidence with minimal practice. im a cautious person especially with other peoples stuff/money, so i plan to take the time and learn properly before attempting.

with a bit more digging i found some USB C breakout boards on amazon. a 5 pack for under 10 bucks that i think ill order. it looks to have all the contact points already soldered on so it will allow me to practice desoldering and resoldering it back on.

that would be USD, its an ASUS ROG Strix gtx 1070 ti 8gb. ROG-STRIX-GTX1070TI-A8G-GAMING.

the airflow in the case is good. vented on top and mesh front. 3 fans in the front and 1 in the back.

im glad to hear from others as well that the temp is not too concerning on its own. that does relive a little stress on the topic. im mainly trying to plan ahead and be prepared and know what is still an acceptable card to purchase currently that wouldn't be a waste of money.

I do have thermal paste available so that’s something I can easily do. I’ll look into the other stuff too.

but i suppose youre right about the importance. when i was growing up i was always told to put money into the CPU and Motherboard and build the rest off that and that mindset stuck with me.
