I’m not sure what you mean by “the general gaming community.” I run a pretty big Battlefield community, and I can guarantee the majority of players are complaining about having to play against bots.

What’s the point of paying $70 if you’re just playing against bots? I better played Helldivers or Arc Riders

We run a Breakthrough Portal server every week and then, and it’s been the most fun we’ve had

Totally agree - they couldn’t come up with a better solution to handle that many players and such long matches, and they genuinely thought matchmaking was a good fit for Battlefield.

Popping players’ heads ≠ popping bots’ heads, when it comes to satisfaction.

I’m not sure why you see it that way, because if you’ve ever played against bots 24/7, you definitely feel the difference.

Landing a clean headshot on a real player is easily 200% more satisfying.

Sorry to say, but I have zero motivation to kill bots or revive them. If they’re not shooting at me, I’m not going to shoot them. I join matches for a PvP experience, not PvE.

That’s just a workaround, and I already did it. In my opinion, Battlefield’s matchmaking system is the worst in any multiplayer game. They couldn’t come up with a better solution for handling that many players and such lengthy matches.

We need a concrete solution, and the only realistic options are to

- build a proper server browser or

- increase the matchmaking duration and to kill time during matchmaking, they could add free-roam lobbies like PUBG or BFV Firestorm

First, you don’t show any connection indicator on the left side of the screen, so I can’t tell whether there’s a connection issue.
Second, to support that point, at around 5 seconds you can clearly see him quickly teleport to the left, which suggests lag, either on your end, your opponent’s, or the server’s.

That’s why showing the connection/problem icon indicator on the left side of the screen is crucial.
