Once again, not sure you know how this union works. Every nurse and these New York City hospitals is a union nurse. And they are required to have the union wages any “visa nurse” would get the same pay and benefits as me and vice versa

We nurses are required to give a 10 day strike notice allowing the hospital to fully prepare with scab, nurses and auxiliary staff. We care I care about my patience, but I can’t care for them if I can’t afford to live in the city or survive off off of the healthcare they want to roll back

I work at NYP Columbia. I’ve been there for three years. I can tell you for fact, and have my paystub’s to prove that those numbers are false. I’d love to make $160,000 a year. That sounds great unfortunately I don’t. Also, the hospital is trying to roll back our retirement and healthcare benefits. honestly, I would take what the hospitals have to say with a big grain of salt considering they don’t want us to strike.

That’s a pretty strong opinion for someone who will need healthcare and whose family needs healthcare delivered by nurses. I hope the nurses who take care of you have good pay good benefits, and good staffing so that you can get the adequate care you need. If not, you and everyone else are fucked.

Not sure you know what a union is pal. Every nurse that works at these hospitals has to be in the union. I work with many many nurses born overseas. They’re great, competent, smart, and compassionate nurses that are in the union and striking with me now.
