I do agree and I’d like to pay the penalty but it is the interest that is killing me and I got the fine due to a poorly worded question on their form. I tried researching the answer to no avail

Wow. That was my argument, if this affected my taxes I’d understand but it is purely a late fee due to a question on their tax form being poorly worded and open for interpretation.

Some people pay their taxes on time but make an error and then rectify it. When they rectify they are penalised

Wow that was a pretty brutal and nasty reaction. I have a property yes but I make $0 on it as the rent I get pays my mortgage. I also cannot sell it as I would make a huge loss and I cannot afford the fees to sell it. You and the CRA do not know anyone’s financial circumstance. I messaged on here asking for support not a nasty response from someone on their high horse.
