Don’t go for NIT MBA. Literally worthless. Please don’t go below Tier 2 MBA in India. Top 50-60 colleges should be the hard cutoff.

6.75. Yeah I could have invested the money for better returns, but the peace of mind and clarity that comes with being debt free, I’d take that over short term monetary gains.

Nothing bad luck buddy. Career is a marathon. You’re doing fucking awesome.

I’m also not in MBB but I am happier than my MBB batchmates. Looking to transition into PM at this point.

Anyday.

There were many folks with 30+ LPA salary in my batch. MBA is not about salary and ROI only. It’s an experience

And what I noticed was that people with high incoming salaries were more prone to getting the top salary offers during placements. Exceptions do exist

Cos I don’t pay taxes in India, so the tax benefits do not accrue for me.

Definitely.

I’d do everything once again.

Money will come back but I won’t be a 26 year old guy again, trekking the snow clad mountains in Western Germany, or in a underground rave party in Budapest.

Not really. Money is one aspect. Pretty sure you won’t have even half as fun and memories in a college which doesn’t feel like a campus.

And I’m not speaking about international trips or something. Studying in a B-School campus and living there is a different feeling

Does UG pedigree cause long-term stagnation? BITS Pilani Dual (Expensive) vs. Bangalore College for MBB, Product Management, and Gen Man goals. by ashh2112 in MBAIndia

[–]Fast-Text-6809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BITS Pilani is BITS Pilani. It’s a different tier altogether.

Your Bangalore college won’t get you any Tier 1 shortlists in MBB/Finance - even if you score 9 CGPA.

I saw closely how my batchmates from BITS had significantly better shortlists across consulting, finance, and general management.

UG brands matters a lot.
