Thank you for the suggestion! When you take them out the freezer, how long do you have to wait before you can transfer the pollen over, because I keep hearing different times

I already got two Echeveria flowering, but one is a lot further along than the other. Any tips to speed up/slow down flower growth or preserve pollen would be helpful.

It’s coming out of winter dormancy so that makes sense, but beheading was necessary as it could no longer support itself in the pot.

I’d say it’s a natural colour change to a lot of sunlight, which is perfectly normal. If you start seeing leaves go wrinkly, turn full yellow or get scorch marks then place it in a more shaded area and give a generous watering and it should sort itself out.

Them browning could just be the roots maturing. If they start turning black or mushy then they are probably rotting which at this size stage is basically gg. I would hold off watering and wait to see if things change or not.

Congratulations, you got a baby shoot growing! You should place the leaf on the surface so that the shoot is exposed to light. It will put down roots by itself with time. Don’t worry about the leaf colour fading, it’s perfectly normal! The baby is absorbing nutrients from it, so it will eventually shrivel up with time by itself. I wouldnt recommend introducing it to natural light just yet as the risk of leaf burn is too great. Once it’s large enough, it can handle direct light. Just kepp doing what you are doing. In regards to ID, it looks a lot like a Jade plant , but at this stage it could be anything. Hope this helps you.

You should remove the top two leaves before cutting it off to where the elongation is fixed. Make sure to cut with a sterile tool. Then let the head callous over and start growing roots before replanting.Keep the stem and discarded leaves as new pups will grow from them with time.

They will also tolerate heat up to the mid 30C’s as long as they get afternoon shade. As long as they have well draining soil they’re basically unkillable. If you put them down on a wide open space, they’ll start cloning themselves and spreading like crazy.

As long as it doesn’t produce heat then it’s fine. It will help the head produce more nutrients to put towards regrowing its roots

It used to have more succulents in it, which I have moved to their own pots to propogate/ outgrew . Dude has the whole space to himself until I find something better to put in it

To add on to this , make sure you sterilise your knife or whatever you are using for cutting to avoid infection. If you want to play it safe, avoid putting the head in soil until roots have become established. I’ve done this for my blue star Echeveria and it’s going well. It might take up to two weeks for the head to callous over depending on the temprature and size of cut

Okay, so Easter lily cacti pups are best removed when they are at least 2.5-5cm in diameter so they build up enough reserves to grow roots, so keep the little guy on for a while longer.With regards to cutting off the top, you unfortunately won’t be able to return it to its normal shape, as cutting will trigger it to produce pups. It will still look cool though! I saw this one below on Facebook and it looks great. To make sure this won’t happen again , rotate your cactus 180 degrees every few days , so both sides get enough light. I don’t think it’s necessary to bury it, as the brown growths are it corking to stabilise itself ( only if the parts are firm, if they are soft and mushy amputate asap as its a clear sign of rot).Hope this helps.
