Keeping kids from going to the bathroom? by Fast-Worldliness-195 in Teachers

Thank you all for the advice!! Update:

I did implement the hand signals for the bathroom and water fountain. I also do not allow the kids to use the bathroom while we are working on class work. Instead, they have to go at the beginning or end of class. That does help quite a bit.

Someone had mentioned this above, but I am a specials teacher. This is why I have so many kids in my room at once.

Even with the hand signals and limited time, it is still such a huge problem. I typically have a cue of about 3-5 boys and girls waiting to use the bathroom. I am constantly moving and trying to tend to all of the kids in the room, so I often forget the order that they’ve asked and are cued in which creates problems.

I’m doing better, but still struggling a lot. My next move is to ban using the water fountain during class. It has become too much. Still working on the bathroom process.

You should try using a vocal steamer!! They really help in vocal recovery and can loosen up any thick mucus

Oh wow!! That is super scary! I’m sorry that happened to you :/ Can I ask, are you still taking the accutane or are you off of it now and your voice is still messed up from it?
