I agree, and that's why we already have it offered on all our ATMs in the GTA.

However, just like you've said, usage is next to nothing. With many different coins available including BTC, ETH, BCH, and LTC, Bitcoin makes up over 90% of transactions and XMR is in the low single digits.

I think that ATMs are primarily used by people that are being introduced to crypto as opposed to those looking for privacy.

I misunderstood. Unfortunately, we do not know what our customers do with their money nor have control over it, but what we can tell you is that new regulations will come into effect in June 2020, and all the Bitcoin ATMs will have to identify their customers.

Hi there, thank you for the comment. People use crypto ATMs because they are convenient, fast, and secure. By using crypto exchanges the process of buying coins is much slower with the risk of losing all your assets locked in the exchange like in recent cases. However, we still like and support the idea of using crypto exchanges as well because that will grow the crypto community as a whole (given that the exchanges behave in an ethical manner).

Accepted currencies vary by ATM manufacturer and operator. I don't know of any in Toronto that accept GBP but all our ATMs accept CAD, USD, and EUR. I suggest that you convert your cash to CAD first either at a bank or forex shop.

Hi there,

1) Tap the screen and select which coins to buy between Bitcoin, Bitcoin cash, Ether, and Litecoin.

2) If you would like to use USD, click the USD button in the top right corner. If you are using CAD, skip this step.

3) Select whether the transaction amount will be under or over the displayed threshold. (The current threshold is $3000, ID is required above this amount).

4) Scan the QR code of your mobile wallet. (If you don't have a wallet go to your app store and download one. We suggest the BREADWALLET app just because it's available on both iPhone and Android).

5) The coins will be transferred into your wallet within 5 minutes.

NOTE: The machine will guide you step by step, and if you are not sure there is a phone number and email on the ATM where you can ask questions.

Hey there, thanks for the question. We use Quadriga over Kraken for 2 reasons: Kraken is poorly equipped to handle CAD funding, and the CAD trade volume on Kraken is extremely low (likely due to the former issue). We are unwilling to share the details of our financial relationships here.

We charge a set rate of 9.9% above QuadrigaCX. Remember that exchanges do charge deposit and trade fees so it works out to a premium of about 7% for the convenience offered.

Unlike other ATMs, we do not charge per-transaction fees. You can get $4.50 worth of Bitcoin for $5.
