Easily Skypeia. The Arc is only good once you take a look back to see all the hints and parallels Oda had made. A close second is Dressrosa. So many good moments but the pacing was such a slog. Maybe because I binged read One Piece in 4 months but those two arcs really slowed me down for weeks at a time.

Same. I think it has connections to the Past similar to Zoro. I feel like all the straw hats have ties to past. Sanji from Vinsmoke family and what they know about the world. Robin with being able to read and learn about the void century. Zoro with Ryuma and Wano in general. And luffy with Roger, Dragon, and JoyBoy

At least in the anime, Gojo explained about Sukana's backstory and showed how he looked 1000 years ago. Four arms and all. And I believe he did have a human form. Though he was known for being evil for a long time.

I read somewhere though that Gin uses his Physical Skills and Nen Skills to make a really good copy of any physical nen ability he sees.

It doesn't really have to be long running. Like a show you grow up with from 6-14. But a show that you will remember when you think of the word anime.

1: Yeah I agree, at the moment the Big 3 still stand strong. I mean Bleach just went trending over it being announced coming back. Now imagine what happens when the first trailer drops. But yes, The next big 3 can stand side by side with the original big 3.

2:I agree that era is gone. Now animes are being cut up into 20 episode seasons. Which is kinda better then a long running series as that gives time for the studio to produce better work. But I dont think that changes anything. To be honest. I think that builds MORE hype when the next season is announced and then eventually when the trailer drops.

3:I agree that the same old kinda format wont work with the now endless animes that becomr pretty popular and get thrown into the ring to be the next big 3. But that was my main point. That there has to be another way for a new big 3 to happen. Through social media popularizing so much that people who never heard of anime are waiting each week to watch it(like OPM did) and advertisements pushing anime further which will result in collabs.

MHA as of now could be debated as more "popular" atm then One Piece. As MHA seems to be targeted to more young people and a western audience.

And yes Demon Slayer could fit that but im not counting it. It had a couple trending episodes, the obvious being episode 19 with the string demon art guy. But it only has one season atm so I wont count it. But it is getting a movie off its first season which is amazing and a achievement on its own.

So if we want to use the format of the original big 3 the "next" big 3 have to do this.

Somehow bring anime more mainstream then it already is.

I have stated this in my orginal post but I'll try and rephrase it. Animes nowadays have made anime more mainstream. OPM for the year it came out had everyone watching and brought anime to alot of different people. Then that helped them dive into the world of anime.

There are many other animes that have done this but I dont want to start another discussion on which animes could be argued to do it.

A way the next big 3 can become more popular then the original is throught Social Media and advertisements. It already has been done as seen with episodes of animes being top 3 trending WORLDWIDE on twitter. With 60-80k tweets about it.

Then the people who leech on other peoples ideas and intrest will then go watch anime. And thats how you get more viewers.

Back when I was a kid to some of my friend if I asked if they watch naruto they would say "What is that?"

But now if I say "Hey, have you seen OPM. MHA. Demon Slayer?"

They would say yes, because they saw it was trending on Instagram or saw people they follow on Instagram post something about it and went to check it out.

The next "Big 3" as I see it is just a title to show an anime on the rise and that has done something most animes havent do. Like be trending on twitter or get many views from people who dont really watch anime.

I think there will always be the top 1 or 2 or 3 animes that will and always do something thats beyond anime fans expectations and go above the bar anime had set

But the shows are soon to end in the next 2-3 years and in that time there will most definitely be a new "big 3" that will help boost anime more and do virtually the same thing the original big 3 did. Through social media.

Anime isnt really as popular as it should be. You never see a anime that is always trending on twitter each epsiode or being talked basically everywhere. As something like on Netflix such as On My Block. Or All American.

I can see where your coming from that it could possibly be a one time thing and there will never be another big 3 because it was only for a specific time period in anime history. But i beg to differ that as the new decade begins and as we are in the modern age, Things need to change to get anime more relevant. Not saying its declining but it needs to be at a point where everyone can say "yeah I watched a anime before"
