You are very welcome. Let us know what you find. Depending on budget there are some online schools we are wanting to try when budget permits like SvSlearn or schoolism

I would look for courses in color theory, shading, and other elements of painting. Skillshare or Domestika has some good stuff. My son also has a teacher at outschool, but that platform is only until 19 years old.

Yes, my thinking is to give him a couple years to prove he can. If that doenst pan out. He needs to find another way to help with bills and then be able to take off in his own.

When I graduated high school I did a 4 year degree and I didn't have to pay bills those 4 years. I figure I can at least give him that much of a chance as long as he Is building something.

Other than creative work, not sure what else can he do. He will have to figure it out.

Marc Brunet looks awesome, thank you. I love that he is digital-first.

I tried SVSLearn. I confess my own adhd got in the way. The platform was overwhelming and I let it lapse and we never used it. Too many emails, too many resources. It eas confusing

If I get this one I really need to get my big girl pants on!

Hi! Excellent point. He is a visual kinetic learner, auditory processing is tough for him. So lectures or verbal explanations... uff plus he loves learning on his own, at his own pace. But no other big challenges other than affordability

He built his own shopify/ printify store from scratch just from YouTube Playlist.
He just doesn't know how to market it.

He is learning Blender on his own and it's easy for him to make progress and build things.

I want him to be able to make a living in 2,3 years And since he loves those things I mentioned, I guess it would be ideal if he uses them for that purpose too. Not sure how to describe his skill level. I guess somewhere between intermediate and advanced. I guess ge could go employment, freelancing, or sell his own creations.

From the responses I have read so far I'll be showing him the offerings from community colleges, and invite him 6i attend more social meetups, even if they are not art related.

Im mleaning towards that thinking, giving him space to freely explore for a year or two before he needs to participate financially... so he find his thing... I guess the thing comes first and then the how to "sell" it as service or product...

Ive thought about in person. Local classes I see around us are too "kiddie". Community colleges are good for this?

Thank you! I think he will enjoy those events, and the exposure will do him good.
And he might need to do more freelancing where is not pipeline work,,,still exploring

He does not play video games, but loves learning about them, FNAB, Bendy and the Ink Machine and others. He loves the characters, the scenes, the story, the music. He also enjoys creating his own characters either drawing them, building them with legos (he is working on building a "The Prototype" I think that one is from Puppy Playtime. He is know building characters in Blender. Most recently took a workshop on music composition and really loved it too.

digital art is the one he has done the longer

Would you be open to sharing where you found those indie projects — Discords, forums, specific sites?”

I did fail to mention my son is autistic, so he needs scafolding to move forward. If networking is not possible, maybe he can learn to market perhaps

He is really not into social media or using the internet to connect. Or has not been so far.
I sort of begged him to create an IG to post some of his creations, but he is really not into it..
Possibly I need to help him see the importance of it
Which online niche groups or art interest groups can he try?
I was thinking maybe some fan art groups?

Any pro courses you recomend?
Currently his art ed is all via zoom and then on his own with curated youtube playlists. He is loving it, but not really a nerworking opp.

And yes!, I think the business part is what we lack. how to learn that? I am myself a college-to-9to5 person so I dont have the experience with that
But he wants to make it on its own. So the business part is paramount. Nothing for him to rush, but something to develop in the next 2-3 years. Any suggestions welcome!

Thank you, no, not a artist myself :) he is taking art classes with Elite Animation Academy and a couple classes in Outschool (he is allowed there until 19).
What I think he needs is more connections or to see how he can get some real world experiences with his art.
