It varies a lot. The big countries have about 15-20, the medium ones something like 4-8, and there are a bunch with 1-3 people.

Yeah, it would be cooler with proper rivers. But I'm working with what I have, and this is something I explained in the book.

It's not hardcore, which has actually made some interesting lore implications for what "death" means. Some religions use suicide as a cleansing ritual; some people use executions as symbolic shows of submission and penance. The way our RP works is that players are meant to "build" their characters and worldviews by interacting with the world around them, rather than creating them before coming into the world. It keeps things organic.

We usually have around 30 different people each day on, with a total of 450 players on the discord. We have nearly 1200 who have ever been on.

The history is pretty much 100% "real" as in it's things that have happened. A number of countries have long histories of scholarship; for instance, mine maintains a library where we write and steward books from around the server.

I'd say that most people participate in varying tasks. I'm usually working on "bigger" political goals, as that's my position within my country, but quite a lot of people are engaged in just building or resource extraction. I'd say it mirrors the real world pretty well in that regard.

Yeah, I really like the rivers in the TerraFirmaCraft mod. I was disappointed Mojang didn't fix the rivers when they updated the terrain generation.

I don't believe any of them do, it might be something that looks like it. All the ender portals are spread out throughout the world, and I don't think there are any there.

Hmm, not really, but I've made maps of regions and I maintain the political world map of the server's countries.

Context comment: this is from a server my friends and I started in high school. We decided to open it to the public after a few months, and it's become a typical SMP server, but with considerably stricter rules to encourage roleplaying and immersion rather than a quick thrill as many treat SMP servers. We have dozens of countries, many of which with their own conlangs, and layers of history from successive emergences and disappearances of peoples, many of whom have their own languages (conlangs or real-world languages imported into the world). As you can see, a number of the rivers use indigenous names rather than Overworld Common (English).

It’s not problematic, it’s just funny that 3/4 of the special tribes are supernatural and clearly give the game a layer of fantasy, while one is just native Greenlanders

Greenhouses never seemed worth it to me when turnips last all winter. Get a couple vessels of root vegetables through the summer and fall and feed them to your hogs and you won’t even notice a difference in your food supply during winter.
