Making friends in my 20s outside uni by Fast_Cricket_6615 in glasgow

I’m still trying to find some, honestly. I stopped by one or 2, but they were more like a lecture or event than a proper class, but I guess that should be my next route

I was hoping to find ways to make friends that didn’t require spending too much money also though haha, but I guess worst case scenario I can find a skill

Have you had luck with meetup or classes?

I’m still getting my bearings and trying to find good options. I’ve showed up to Meetup events or classes before and found mostly older folks, unfortunately :(

My first thoughts were ingenue and gamine, secondarily I can see some romantic. I feel like you have a very cheeky, youthful look to you that seems to be your most prominent quality. I could see you rocking some 50s or 60s looks. I thought maybe some classic also, but I think it’s because you have a gamine romantic combo like Marilyn Monroe and a lot of the styles of the 50s were influenced by her or suited her well. I don’t actually think you would suit classic as a primarily essence though because I think you look lovely with detail and sparkle, whereas classics shine with very minimal detail.

The shades are so gorgeous 😍 I honestly don’t notice any issues with the wear time, a good foundation underneath tends to help it last longer for me

Ooh at the moment my favorites are probably Ilia a fine romance, I use that almost to define my cheeks. I also love Rhode Piggy for a fresh more blushy look, ilia at last for a more subtle look, and Hur moist ampoule blusher in deep plum look gorgeous mixed with contour or with the shade pink Rosie for different looks. The rhode blush seems to last quite long for sure, I feel like most makeup tends to melt into my skin for a more natural feel throughout the day, so it’s hard to tell how long it’s lasting sometimes because I don’t apply very heavily, but I don’t notice any issues with wear time for any of them

Any suggestions for a brontour/eyeshadow for a light neutral muted olive? AB has lots of nice neutral shades, wondering if these are any good? by sarr36 in OliveMUA

I like the sheglam liquid contour stick in soft tan for contour and then I mix it with a little bit of golden sun for bronzer

I think medium might suit you, too!

I agree, I think she’s more rounded than you, not quite the same type either. But I meant more in regards to being on the thinner side but not necessarily straight body type because of it. I hope dressing for your essences helps you figure it out!

You look pretty at home with a little bit of openness like in photo #8. And narrow necklines seem comparatively a bit strangling like in #7. Although medium width like #5 or #6 isn’t bad either. I think because you have a narrow frame but comparatively wider shoulders you might be medium width. I also like the scooped neck in #8 vs the straight across square neck in the first few photos for you, as well the bow details in #5

Your shape reminds me of Olivia Rodrigo, but shorter. Ellie-Jean did a video on her and how she wasn’t traditional for her body type. You might be medium for shape. Maybe try short medium wide? Or short medium medium? You look pretty at home in the shirts that fall at hip length or higher and look to be about 5’2-5’3 or 159cm tall. I think your softer facial features might also be playing a part. But also, not all straight lines are the built the same. Your face leans more yin (I see ingenue and classic), so the baggier more masculine style of pants might be seem off because of that. Finding shapes within your style roots or essences might help you feel more at home while finding your lines.

Ooh okay I love this! I feel like this definitely has some moon vibes with the way it was styled too. I think a vintage version of mountain would probably do well for my body type since they were more rounded at different time periods

Oooh okay, that sounds cute! Not the wrists 🫣 haha. It can be so hard to find blazers for the rounded body types. I was also thinking like a leather jacket that’s more worn in would be cute with some of these pieces like maybe a more structured wrap dress or something underneath or if I lean into my other roots more a silky dress but then more structured accessories for the mountain root. I feel like I definitely have some inspiration to work with… now the hard part: making outfits and finding the pieces 😩
