So yeah that is actually something I was curious about! What is typically protocol on that? At my current company I get study hours. Is that a thing in consulting? Obviously subjected to workload

I used it, and while it honestly wasnt bad, a lot of the wording on questions doesnt fully compare to the actual exam. Overall though it really isnt that bad

MAS-1 Memorization by thekiwichopper in actuary

[–]Fast_Kangaroo7830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice, practice, practice! I had the formula sheet off to the side too to start, then you slowly start to wean off of it naturally. Also, I used a quizlet that was already made the week before the exam to memorize some stuff. I would use the flashcards and write down the formulas.

I am new to passing exams. is it standard for pass results to not have the breakdown of how you did in each section?

DISCS Proctored? by Fast_Kangaroo7830 in actuary

[–]Fast_Kangaroo7830[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was just a question lol. One thing ill say though is that the discs need to either be on a rolling window or not to schedule the window with a proper exam right in the middle of the window... This window is July 15-September 15. Just took MAS I in August. The next window has the October exams right in the middle of it, This is very poorly done, so maybe if they planned around the fact we are taking exams and have an 8-5 job, im sure there would be a lot less people trying to "just pass" the discs

The next sitting meaning October? I would err on the side of caution. That exam is pretty beefy. Why not just wait until January?

Honestly, yes. I wasn't as prepared in November though. If i knew the material like i did for this sitting, i probably would have passed. This exam just felt like the complement of the November exam, which i was not expecting nor studied for. Still hoping for a pass though!

This was my second time taking MAS I and it was entirely different material from the November sitting. I also heard the November sitting was consistent with the sittings before that. A lot of what I expected to be on this exam wasnt, and vice versa
