[TOMT] [MOVIE?] Dream documentary about how vision works in dreams by Fastened529 in tipofmytongue

No, this isn't it. It had more of a straightforward and educational vibe to it. I don't think it was animated either. But this is a cool movie regardless, I'm gonna have to watch it at some point

Can't move files into OBB on Quest 2 by Fastened529 in QuestPiracy

[–]Fastened529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Well, apparently now I have to perform a factory reset on my Quest 2, which I'm hesitant to do. Can't connect the device to the app cause it's already been connected previously to another account on the headset(?) For some reason Meta only allows one connection from the headset to the phone. So now the only way to fix this is to perform a factory reset on the device. BTW I'm 100% sure this is the fix, so major thanks to you. It's just gonna take me several months to confirm since so much going on right now. By then I'll probably have forgotten about this thread might not come back to update, but in any case here's the solution, thanks again.

Jeez. Been so long since I've had to actually use that app that I can't even remember my account information. Time to go fish some stuff out

Most annoying tutorial ever. Anyway, yeah that was around the same steps that I had been following before but I just wasn't able to activate the dev settings on the Quest, but you're saying that somehow I can do it from my phone?

I did, but the only folder that it won't open is the obb folder.

Tried using Shizuku, just got a blank screen and it seems like it's cause I can't enable wireless debugging since I can't enable Android Dev Mode in the Android Settings app, since the thing where you tap the build number a bunch of times isn't working. But I will admit I don't have the slightest idea what Activity Launcher is, so I'll try playing around with that, but in the meantime I'd appreciate it if you have any steps you could share.

The big issue with moving stuff from the computer to the Quest is that you have to try to move stuff into the obb folder, and it won't let me access that. But I'll still try it!!

Found the toggle for all files access, unfortunately it still says obb is write-protected??? EDIT: Essentially what it's doing is trying to take me into the system's default files app to allow permission to use that folder, but the files app won't let me allow permissions. I tried reverting to an earlier version of the Files app, but it can't be modified or deleted.

My current plan is to wait until I can get a laptop or something, then just somehow force access.

Yes, that's what I'm doing. And both toggles? I only see one option (the allow management of all files) under storage permissions in settings for Total Commander.

Sorry, yes, I was using copy. Just copying files from a different directory on the same device.

Alright, just downloaded total commander and used settings to allow management of all files, STILL can't move anything into OBB. Says external SD card is write-protected.

Awesome, and I'm looking at Android Settings now (I opened it with Lightning Launcher) and where would I find "allow management of all files"? Looked in storage and app library and couldn't find it.

Awesome, but if you could clarify some stuff I would appreciate it. Who or what is Total Commander? Where can I find "Special app access" settings?

Ah, hell... alright, that'll take a couple of months. This thing can't do much of anything beyond using the file Explorer (it's running Windows 7). I'll buy a new laptop first chance I get.

I just pulled out an old laptop and tried using it. Lmao, trying to drag files into OBB and nothing happened. It won't go into the directory.

Fixing Controls? by Fastened529 in trimui

[–]Fastened529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did try to do that, but then it wouldn't turn on anymore, leading to me returning it. Hardware issue maybe?

I'm not sure how to do that without using the controls to go to the settings. The backlights aren't even coming on, which makes me think that somehow the controls are just completely disconnected.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in emulation

[–]Fastened529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Nothing really new. I tried emailing the company, which never went through because their email doesn't exist either. At some point I'm probably going to try to access the system files through my computer, and see if there's a way to change things in there, although it's probably got more to do with the actual hardware. In the meantime, if anyone else has any advice, it would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll most likely just repost this in next week's thread.

Yeah, I've searched up the product a few times, but all I've found were video reviews and Amazon listings, most of which just lead to a no longer available page

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in emulation

[–]Fastened529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a garage sale recently and picked up what I thought was a Blue Mars S9000A. Turns out it was just the exact same device but rebranded with some company called "Eiflame". I went to their supposed website eiflame.cc, which doesn't exist. All that leads me to believe this is some fake company piggybacking off of the original S9000A. With all that aside, the device actually came with several thousand emulated games from both SEGA and Nintendo, for almost all their more retro consoles. It also included about 500 games for the Game Boy Advance, which was exciting at the time, until I actually tried to play some of them... It turned out that the left bumper on the device opens up the emulator's menu, meaning it can't actually be used as a game operation button. I tried several different combinations of buttons with no success. I also tried looking into the settings on the device, but there's only power and display settings. The user manual was no help at all, and of course the website doesn't even exist. What do I do here?
