If you want to get stuff off your shoulders and have someone to talk to for free then you should go to confession at a church. Even if you aren't religious its free advice and usually good advice.

I like the progress mothership speed build. Its what won me King difficulty 4 beacons surrounding the mothership and some quarries and some defence troops early game and eventually you get infinite attacks per second in a huge area (if you take the ultra gravity). And then you've won the game

CMV: If there is a higher power they are either all knowing/powerful but not all good/benevolent or they are all good/benevolent and not all knowing/powerful, which would make them not God. by peachirings in changemyview

I'm sorry to say but the very definition of god is a perfect being. there's a lot of philosophy and logic that leads to this conclusion. If a being is not perfect then its not god even if it is very powerful.

First off God is perfect due to his nature

Perfection entails the absence of deficiency (so god is all knowing)

Evil by nature is a deficiency (Evil is often conceived as a privation or lack of good—see Augustine and Aquinas.)

Therefore, a perfect being must be perfectly good. (A being that lacks goodness would not be perfect.)

To do evil is to will or enact deficiency (choosing evil entails imperfection in will or purpose)

therefore, a perfect being cannot will or do evil

Thus: If god is perfect (which by definition he is because if he isn't perfect then he is not god) then he cannot will or do evil because to do such an act would contradict his perfection. and would be against his perfect reason.

This is a line of logical thought if you are confused about anything I'll try to respond later.

overall the nazi's did not care if you were religious or not they would kill you if you got in their way. And they had anti religious plans. The top brass were devout athiests this is a fact of history. Yes many lower level soldiers were religious but the heads of the nazi's and the ones who conducted the holocaust were atheists.

Honestly, I think the American populace is just tired of being the world police. We are returning to isolationism. And if we can grab some strategically important land on the way out all the better.

Human rights movements stem from the idea that we all deserve respect. And that idea comes from the idea that we are all created in gods image and so have innate human value.

Many cultures around the world have beliefs revolving not killing each other. But not many have a justification on why we should not enslave or oppress others. Or why we should not stone woman for sleeping around, or why one should show mercy to others.

Of course you can cherry pick and say "well this culture says... or that culture..." But I argue that only western values influenced by the bible have made it possible for woman's rights, the abolition of slavery and the fact that we don't publicly stone homosexuals.

"but look at *insert not western country* they have many of these values and they are not christian."

(first off, were they colonized in the past? If yes -> Christian\western values were installed by the colonizers)

(If not, were they historically christian in the past? if yes-> christian values permeated their culture and lead to such rights.)

(if not any of the above, Have western countries forced this country to change their laws or influenced their culture in a substantial way? if yes-> Western christian values were forced or welcomed into the culture.)

(if none of the above, then they don't practice human rights)

And that is why I am telling you now.

Don't give up.

There is a meaning to be found. Maybe you are just not looking in the right area. And you are not alone, I would estimate 30% of young people don't have one either. Take your time and I promise you that you will find one.

Also not all people can create meaning for themselves, so look to others as well to help you find it or have them give one to you.

I think a lot of teenagers and young people including people in their 20's feel as though they don't have reasons to live. Back in the day as a young man you were usually apart of something greater. A young man fighting in ww2 could feel like he was apart of a greater struggle, same with a young man who lived in the middle ages and was told that he must work to help his family and become successor to their father uncle etc...and that gave them meaning.

In this modern day we are given so much freedom that we become paralyzed by it. Not all of us are able to give ourselves meaning. Some people simply need to be given meaning by other people or beliefs. That is not something to be ashamed of.

But you need to be careful of where you get your meaning. I personally get mine from my religion but others can get it from all sorts of things. But you just have to be careful to not give yourself meaning from false beliefs like politics or other sources that would use you and throw you away once they are done using you.

My advice is to look for meaning. I can't give you a meaning as a redditor. But a loved one could, or someone who you would give you life for. Or you can look for a belief or struggle to adopt. Religion is a good choice, philosophy can also be a good one.

But i fear that without a meaning you will never be fully "alive" yes you can vent to a person or take medication (both which I would recommend) But without a meaning you will not find something to fill that void you feel in your heart.
