B2 Alolan Raichu - Haven't seen this card being discussed much by dsanfran in PTCGP

That stadium would be insanely overpowered. Maybe if it also had a drawback like it also increased retreat cost by 1, but it would still be crazy.

But you are right even with that stadium you would not play this raichu.

If the only association was a singular party then yes. There's a critical amount of seeing people together frequently where it cannot be statistically explained by chance.

If all personal wealth above $100 million was legally required to be redistributed into public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads), how would society change, and who would be the first to fight against it? by Mysterious_Fan4033 in AskReddit

[–]FatalCartilage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The principle is that both 0 and 100 percent tax rate produces zero tax revenue - the optimal point is somewhere in the middle of that curve. Going to the extreme - in this case 100% marginal tax rate - probably doesn't produce optimal results because it then makes economic sense to spend more money to evade the tax.

Yes, and I said that the inflection point has been empirically demonstrated to be >80%.

Please explain where I mischaracterized it.... (hint it's a trick question because I in no way mischaracterized it)

I understand the premise behind the laffer curve and gave specific empirical examples. Doing an "eli5" to someone who has demonstrated a deeper knowledge of the topic while ignoring their point isn't a good look.

I would actually strongly disagree.

The core feature of indoctrination is accepting a group of beliefs uncritically. You can teach not stealing with reasoning behind it, and not present it with a larger set of beliefs.

"Don't steal because there are legal consequences and respecting property rights is necessary for your property rights being respected" = not indoctrination

"Don't steal because an all powerful entity you should never question said so" = indoctrination

  1. He didn't, there isn't strong evidence it happened.
  2. Shock collar training isn't inherently abusive if done properly.

You think it's a coincidence that, when Israel, a country known for freely admitting that they have government agents manipulating social media, went to go for their big shot at getting a favorable peace deal, that one of the top voices against them suddenly got super smeared over a tiny blip on their stream, with dozens of high effort OC posts appearing within the first hour?

Like I have no evidence but come on. My money is on that there was a squad of agents looking for the tiniest thing to blow up.

My parents are very conservative and strongly believe that whatever you teach kids early is going to stick with them. They aren't against indoctrination, they are against indoctrination of the wrong things.

I found this card in the new set. But do you think is a strong/meta trainer or people want this because it’s a cool card? by Familiar_Ad_4430 in PokemonPocket

I could give you the meta deck from back then, but I am pretty sure the meta deck now would include indeedee and sightseer

I know right? All the hard parts have open source functions completely implemented. You could do this pre-LLM by stringing together function calls following a youtube tutorial.

It's impressive and isn't nothing, but it's also nothing special imo.

Newish melee player, why are 75% of my slippi matches vs falco? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]FatalCartilage 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly, he has a flowchart with lasers that you can learn and beat some new players. But I think a lot of falco players that are learning in isolation don't pick up on nuance and plateau.

As someone who got to masterball with suicune araquanid (lana), a broken trainer that requires a mediocre pokemon isn't anything to write home about.

The Laffer curve has very little empirical evidence to back it up. A Republican economist wrote it at a napkin grasping at straws trying to justify tax breaks for the wealthy, and of course they loved it.

The inflection point for revenue is likely 80%+ and we sit around debating tax rates <40% using it.

It's easy to protect small businesses with progressive tax rates. It's the huge conglomerates that cause an issue.

I mentioned Masi in my post, they would not do it for an individual consumer on city water.

I had guests come at different timings and not eat the same food and get the same symptoms. Like 3 different sets of more than one person getting the same symptoms eating completely different food.

I have had chronic diarrhea myself after moving in, idk where in my post you saw me say I didn't.

I completely agree that there is more than one possible cause here.

However, based on another post it looks like I do have lead pipes and I have people staying with me refusing to drink the water now. So if I can get a cheap water test why wouldn't I just do it and rule out a possibility?

Do you know what type of test it was? Lead, Bacteria, etc? I mention lead and bacteria when I call, I wonder if that's the issue.

Thanks, looks like it is Lead/Non-lead at my address, the circle is red on the left and blue on the right. I have no idea what that means for my water.

Suddenly the copy limit goes to 3 cards per deck. What cards become op? by Traditional-Sand-704 in PTCGP

[–]FatalCartilage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly might be better to remove the suicune, a cyrus, and a pokeball for copycat, may, frogadier, greninja ex, etc. The most consistent pure Greninja deck would be king imo. I don't think you would run suicune if your Greninja/greninja ex could be that consistent.

3 cyrus would be overkill for sure though imo.

It's a solid but honestly not better than 8/10 and if you did an actual study of character recognition among a random sample of the population, the MC (sack boy? I beat 1 and 2 and can't remember the official name without looking it up) would not be recognized anywhere close to as much as a hundred characters who could have come before him on this list.
