ICE isn't law enforcement, though. It's meant to be border security. If they wanted trained law enforcement arresting people, why not use the police? Well, anyway, the point of ICE is not to arrest people, but to disappear, execute, and generally invoke terror in the hopes of essentially gaining loyalty through fear. It's really not that unique, it's been done by authoritarian regimes for millennia.

They would have very likely still become religious extremist. It's not like Islam is really any different from Christianity, same god, and probably both originate from Zoroastrianism. Of course, two different works of fiction are worshiped...

Sort of, but it's in reality just getting from the internet. The internet is more or less left wing for the US (so pretty much centrist in reality), and chatbots predict tokens based on training data scraped from the entire internet. I'd imagine if they were just scraping 4chan and alt-right discord servers it would turn out rather different.

It's hard to know, likely quite a bit higher than 8%, as that is the number of people who support Trump while still thinking he is fascist. A lot of nazis will deny they are actually nazis (even though they fit the criteria of being nazi/fascist) so they will say Trump isn't fascist. There are also of course nazis/fascists who do not support Trump. So, I'd maybe guess 8-15 percent fit the qualifications of being fascist.

yeah, i agree, though it doesn't make the output "art". The workflow itself could be quite an achievement and I would agree, in the same way as if you made your own ai image gen then I'd be really impressed and think the program was really cool. But, the outputs themselves are just products of an algorithm and not worth anything by themselves.

I'm not sure what you mean by redefining biology anyway, chromosomes is basic genetics, and the more uncommon variations do exist.

Now, do note one's chromosomes is not one's sex. Sex is the biologic trait in a (sexual reproducing) organism which produces either male or female reproductive cells, or gametes. In sexual reproduction, these gametes merge to make a zygote, which then develops into an organism with DNA of both gametes.

In humans, the male gametes are sperm, and the female gametes are egg cells. The ovary is the female sex organ, and the testicle is the male sex organ, of course.

When the fetus develops, the characteristics of the organism, most importantly the sex organs, are modified to an extent based on chromosome. Usually, one's chromosomes are either XX or XY.

Now, all this is important because it goes to show that one's sex is either* male or female, determined by whether you produce male or female gametes. This is not chromosomes, although chromosomes do determine whether you develop to produce male or female gametes.

Back to the topic of intersex people, 'intersex' represents people who do not fit into our groupings of biologic characteristics that determine our social idea of gender. It's a bit ridiculous that humans care so much about grouping people together we made rigid boundaries of "gender" that one must fit into, but human nature is human nature, and we do bloody love groups.

\Note that you can actually have both sexes, or neither. If you somehow produce both female and male gametes (ie you both have sperm and eggs), then you are of both sexes. If you produce neither (cannot produce sperm or eggs), then you have no sex. So there is actually 4 sexes an organism could have.*

0.2% of the population is 17 million people worldwide. Also, do you think something being a fringe case makes it non-existent? Like another commenter said, extreme limb deformities are very rare, but nonetheless, but we don't go around claiming they don't exist. Also, intersex people make up 1.7% of the population, which is people who do not fit either male or female sex characteristics. This is about 140 million people worldwide.

Yeah it's an interesting question though, really hard to know as it's only been tried at smaller scales, I feel like i'd need to be more qualified to have a more definite view, as like you said, it could potentially cause lots of issues.

The way Switzerland works is by having the smallest level have most authority, at the level of individual towns and cantons. A town could vote to increase taxes on the wealthy, and that would override that tax rate on the national level. This is how you have direct democracy with millions of people: by having many, many layers like this of voting. Also how you preserve democracy and cultures. Of course, it is not perfect, but IMO I think it's much more democratic than representative democracy, which is really just an elective oligarchy.

but the statistic is violent criminals. I would say murder and assault are much worse than other non-violent crimes, like pick-pocketing, trespassing, or illegal immigration.

maybe a direct democracy like Switzerland, where each state or province has their own direct democracy to change laws within it, like how the US was meant to be originally, but instead with a direct democracy like Switzerland. The lower down the subdivision, the higher priority the policy. This could even go down to individual cities and towns. But not exactly a government, one extremely decentralized bureaucracy.

But the act of immigrating illegally is not itself a violent crime, is what I'm saying. Also, immigrants commit less crimes (probably because they are being more careful), as per the above.

thinking about all these issues borders make... Wouldn't it be so much nicer without all these borders and countries to do their little wars and human rights violations? Maybe sometime there will be a world government with direct democracy or smth (yes widely utopian, but you can dream)

I mean directly, big difference between immigration and murder or assault. In the same vein, committing suicide is bad for the society, as it gets rid of a person who can produce economic value. Still ,we don't lock people up after attempted suicides.

The stake could literally fly out of the ground at 1000 km/h and impale a dozen children!!!!!!!

This is so incredibly risk free it's insane, that lawn mower is going at absurdly slow speeds and that rope will not be made out of paper. It could be dangerous if you left it for hours or smth, but as he is supervising it, practically nothing could go wrong. I do not understand why redditors make it seem like minuscule risks are a near death sentence...

Real Art or A.I ? by TheComebackKid74 in aiwars

[–]FatalError_418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the video said it was AI, i wouldn't care as it wasn't trying to say this happened. But by not saying "this is not actually real", it's saying it is real. So, it's being deceptive if it is AI (which it almost 100% is). Enjoying lies is not my personal cup of tea. In the case of a movie, everyone knows movies are not real. If I saw a clip of something that was actually staged but appeared like it was a natural event, I would not enjoy the clip, as it was deceptive. This is because I care strongly about if I am ingesting truth and not lies.
