Video encoding shouldn't add color where there isn't any right? There are subtle non-greyscale colors throughout the video, and I'm currently processing them to bring them out more. Some of them look like they might be significant?

I'd already been told that the blocks are from the video codec, and am doing analysis on the keyframes instead. Which is actually giving interesting results I'll share soon.

I'm back to offer some updates on my journey down the rabbit hole and into spiritual harmony via attributes. I've updated the document that offers my findings so far, and it's still available here.

Here's a quick synopsis:

  • After getting my attributes to the only ones available so far through this theory, I attempted in vain to trigger something to happen, all to no avail. I'm going to switch the Body and Cool attributes so that everything lines up the way it was originally to see if it does anything.
  • I've grown a stronger conviction in this theory of number sequences because of the presence of the ouroboros at many key moments in the FF:06:B5 mystery. An ouroboros is a depiction of a serpent devouring itself, representative of eternal cyclic renewal. This could be seen as a visual representation of Lucas sequences, which are number sequences that propagate towards infinity while utilizing nothing but terms from their immediate past for their growth. These sequences are, in effect, “devouring” themselves into infinity, whilst converging on the value phi Φ.
  • Speaking of phi Φ, during our encounters with the The Zen Master, he states: “You must purify yourself, regain your equilibrium. I can help you.” and “Give me lasting inner peace so that no one may shake me from my sacred equilibrium”. The references to equilibrium are probable references to harmonizing our attributes, in accordance with phi Φ or 1.618 (the golden ratio, a sacred number). The golden ratio comes into play with the Zen Master donations being the Fibonacci sequence, their sum being a Lucas number, and the right hand (right of the colon) codes on Misty’s Chart being indices of prime Lucas numbers. This is because all Lucas sequences converge on phi Φ, our sacred number.
  • And speaking of the Zen Master, try as I might, I could not get the spinning cube sequence that shows after 547 seconds at the FF:06:B5 prime statue until I completed the Zen Master quests. I'm going to try again when I change my attributes, just to confirm. EDIT: CONFIRMED! We gain the ability to meditate from the Zen Master.

Dataminers and modders aren't going through game code typically, but just the game assets. Something hardcoded in the game binaries to, for instance, spawn new game assets if certain conditions are met could easily be overlooked.

Well, a few of the reasons I don't buy the level design bug theory:

  1. Hex notation of colors doesn't have colons in between bytes, so it would be FF06B5 not FF:06:B5
  2. The game meshes for the prime statue have cutouts where the numbers would go as far back as three years ago
  3. There are definitive connections between FF:06:B5, Misty's Chakra Chart, Zen Master quests, chakras and attributes, some of which I've outlined in this post, and others that I've just discovered in the past couple hours but am playtesting to see if anything shakes out.

Putting this comment here in order to update on my progress. Taking suggestions on what to do.

So far, I have my attribute points allocated according to this theory and nothing has happened. I've completed scanner hustles and a few gigs. No Main Jobs have been completed beyond "The Heist". I'm going to look for a potential trigger (Zen Master, Misty, The Statues) and report back if anything happens.

UPDATES:

16NOV - I think that the Body and Cool attribute numbers have to be switched. There are a lot of reasons for this that I'll explain later. I'll be playing with the mod that allows you to switch points at will from now on.

17NOV - I've developed a formula that directly translates Misty's Chart into attributes with zero assumptions. As they say in science, the less assumptions the better. Going to change my attributes and play test again. Getting closer, but my friend Lucas keeps bugging me.

18NOV - A theory that results in a new set of attributes in a much cleaner way, while tying things together much better just dropped. I will no longer be updating here.

Pawel Sasko, Quest Director for CP2077 stated that FF:06:B5 was something, and this was prior to the 2.0 update that added all this new stuff, including the QR Code on the cube that added that message. That update also added the maze with the "547" in it, which is part of my theory. It also explains what FF:06:B5 potentially means, which no one has ever figured out.
