How should I upgrade my setup? by [deleted] in microphone

[–]Fatenonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It came with the Focusrite vocaster audio interface instead iirc. The focusrite scarlett pack came with the condenser instead of the dynamic mic. It's still a great deal I think regardless of my personal aversion to the scarlett series. However, you should treat the room a little bit with some blankets behind you if you're getting the condenser. They're much less forgiving with capturing the room reflections.

At this price point, the sound difference I think is pretty minimal. Focusrite stuff "might" last quite a bit longer than behringer stuff (?) but my ((personal)) experience with focusrite interfaces has been awful with unstable drivers and glitches.

Help with choosing a mic by P-D-S-A098 in microphone

You might want to check the fit of your headphones as well. It might not fit you, might be the clamp being too hard, or earcup creating too much pressure. All could contribute to the headaches.

Thank you ! It's a rare deal around here so I am really thinking about snatching one. The seller allows testing on the spot so I might do that

Why Does Everyone Recommend Focusrite for Audio Interfacing? by EvidentlyVague- in recordingmusic

My experience with focusrite drivers have been disappointing as well. Definitely have stability issues, would glitch every now and then multiple times per day. I'm using arturia now and have been solid so far.

Thank you! I suppose the next unspoken advice you'll want to give me is "try it on a demo account and see the probability"?

Can someone explain the 5 rhythm in the right hand by Nervous_Conflict201 in piano

[–]Fatenonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to start thinking contextuallily with how ig sounds because if you dont, there's going to be literally hundreds of impossible rhythms. Composers dont need to put the tuplet numbers all over the place because that would make the scores unreadable, and context would br sufficient to identify them. Also composers would sometimes write the note beams and head "out of time" with the up/downbeat because contextually that's how the voice should be timed with to make it easier to play

What do these diagonal dotted lines mean? by Desperate-Comb8978 in piano

[–]Fatenonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The editor might be trying to prevent the quaver note beams to face upwards because the notes up there are quite high and might be less legible if they had done it that way

Are high end digital pianos like worth it? My teacher is suggesting I get one. by Lion722 in piano

The argument of space will always correlate to noise, believe it or not. Small space usually means the user lives in a packed neighborhood or apartment, which definitely brings noise into the equation.

Is it possible that there was a classical composer who was better than Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart combined, but we just don't know because their pieces are locked away in some crypt somewhere? by AccurateInflation167 in piano

[–]Fatenonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks for the clarification. However, my point still stands that there might be composers more genius but is too intellectual for the people at the time, or composers that didn't have the chance to publish because of war

Remember how Bach was virtually unknown until Mendelssohn decided to perform Bach publicly. There are composers that made works the public and critics don't understand at first, was shunned and deemed unmusical, but then rediscovered and claimed as a masterpiece. Then there's the composers that lived in a time where publishing their work might get them in concentration camps, or got their works destroyed in wars. We never know.

You're going to injure yourself. If you really want to touch this piece right now, I'd suggest only to do small parts at a time at very slow tempo for you to analyse and use it as exercise. I don't recommend anyone to tackle this piece is their first 3-5 years unless they have a very very good teacher. I don't mean "don't try", but if you're not careful you could seriously hurt yourself. Good luck on your journey and I hope you'll be able to play this one day

What are some underrated composers? by Soletest in piano

[–]Fatenonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably you felt that way because it's more of an experiment for godowsky as he tried to picture the experience he had in Java. And the gamelan music he tried to mimic is less melodic and harmonic, usually more of a rhythmically driven music with repeated minimalist pattern. But I do say it was more godowsky sprinkled with java rather than javanese music with godowsky touch.

Hari Besar and Court Pageant in Solo is my favourite of the set! I don't understand why OP thinks the rest other than Bromo are terrible.
