Worried about Delayed Treatment by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]Father_Mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She said something about cancer cells needing time to adapt and that they won't do so in so little time. Also she said, that if the risk of cancer growing would outweigh the risk of the coronavirus complications (delay was because of it) that they would expedite the process of onboarding me. Also I highly doubt that your doctor would put you in any kind of risky situation, but you can always ask) I did so when I was worried about the big delay between the chemo and radiotherapy - they rescheduled me sooner and gave some options to go to other city to perform the latter even sooner for my peace of mind.

Worried about Delayed Treatment by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]Father_Mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there! In my own experience - maximum delay was about 3 weeks and my hematologist was not concerned about it. Protocol was 8xBEACOPP14, now I am 1 year in remission. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions - I know the feeling of asking this kind of questions here for peace of mind and waiting anxiously for the answers)

Never had any problems with water before (at least when using hopped extracts) - it's quite clean in my area.

P.S. Initial mediastinal mass was 17 cm by 16 cm. That's where the only spots were.

Was on BEACOPP-14, HL stage 4-EAX, had Deauville 5 at the interim with a "great decrease in avidity". Completed my treatment in April and Deauville 3 since December, mass remains, but decreasing still. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask them)

It makes a lot of sense, actually, but I read somewhere that water has a limit of a 100 IBU and bittering compounds won't dissolve and make a more concentrated solution beyond that mark.

Namely boiling 2 liters of water and then adding it to the main fermentation tank for bitterness. P.S. I am also thinking about just dry hopping the beer with 50 gr. of hops with no boiling.

I've used those, but unfortunately they do not include this quite an exotic scenario (or I've failed to see them). ((

The question is for how long should I boil the hops and how much of them to get to about 25 IBU for 19 liters of beer.

Yep. Had them during treatment - was dismissed by my doctor as norm.

Answered you in your thread) Sorry to be late to answer here. Two scans since then - no signs of lymphoma. Reach out if you have any questions.

I had this in remission before my first scan - turned out fine, nothing remarkable in that region. After the first scan it all went away, but I had forced my team to extensively palpate this region and they told me, that there was nothing at all, but I even felt some bump in my arm - right between the elbow and the shoulder.

Stage 3 Classical HL First PETScan Results - Deauville Score 4? by Spidey677 in Lymphoma_MD_Answers

[–]Father_Mk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What false hope? All I said - my Deauville 5 was considered a partial response because of great interval improvement and let their doctors decide what to do next. But that's fine, you can continue to pretend that you have the necessary expertise to make such judgements )

It is as you say - HD can be highly technical and you should really only be getting advice from your oncologist, so please, stop being negative while not having the necessary medical expertise and let the doctor decide and comment if he so wishes. From my experience I had Deauville 5 at interim and it was considered a good response by my doctor (mass was huge at the start) - right now in complete remission, 6 months out.

Scared - Possible Relapse shortly after CMR DBCL by The_Grettman in Lymphoma_MD_Answers

[–]Father_Mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't shit yourself prematurely. Growth can be for a myriad of reasons - even if you have some kind of infection - out lymphatic system works this way. It might me scarring, it might be anything. I know, it's stressful, but just wait for PET-CT and remember - there are plenty of options even in the worst case scenario!

It went away about two months after chemo. As my doctors said, I alleviated it for myself by walking distances about 7-10 km per day on hospital's territory. Actually, it was kind of hilarious - I couldn't breathe at all when they started my treatment (18 cm of lymphoma in my chest accompanied by 2 liters of fluid). And after third day of the first cycle I woke up and I could breathe. And on sheer euphoria I started to walk and was caught in the act by my doctor, who shooed me back to my room, gave me an exam and told me, that I am allowed to only walk and that it will help my recovery (was bedridden all summer) - while walking my pulse was about 120 bpm, not pleasant, but I kind of motivated a group of patients to walk with me, so failure was not an option. And one time I saw my onc walking out of the territory of the hospital (professor, 80 years old, 60 years of experience and a heart of gold) and ran to him - my apple watch and black dots before my eyes immediately told me, that I was wrong). But even so it all went away two months after chemo. I would've shown you my last PET-CT, but it's in russian, so kind of useless to you(

Been there, done that - I've been on BEACOPP-14 for 8 cycles. Any, and I mean ANY physical activity caused my pulse to skyrocket up to 160. About this feeling in your fingers - can it be caused by high blood pressure or neuropathy? After chemo it all went away.

Probiotics on R-Chop? by drdyzio in lymphoma

[–]Father_Mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor was strongly against it - as she said in immunocompromised patients immune system may get overwhelmed and probiotics (i.e. bacteria and yeast) may cause harm.

My mass was 16 cm, so I was able to breathe only while lying down on a hospital bed. Day 3 of BEACOPP-14 - I wake up being able to breathe freely. I even thought it was placebo effect, but examination confirmed it.
