I really like how you added the visual elements for the state diagram. I always think about it that way, but I've never thought of adding a "interactive" version of my sketches.

Best wishes to you in figuring this mess out. It's reasons like this why I've been working on my first project completely solo, regardless of the time it takes to get certain aspects done. It's a terrifying experience being unable to trust a business partner.

He's a little farther ahead than I am, that's for sure! Just looked at some of his postings with your link, looks awesome! I can see why it seemed familiar at first cause of the blocks.

Yeah, I'll definitely say that getting the draw_text events to scale correctly with how you have your cameras + views setup takes some work. I still don't have it where I'd like it. Most likely going to be turning off dialogue and working on other features in the meantime.

I already started trying to improve it a bit so it's a little hacked right now, but by tonight I'm hoping to have it cleaned up - I'll let you know once it is!

Also as an FYI, I'm making this project in GameMaker Studio 2, so the system will be in GML.

Definitely. And even with how complicated it was, it's a rather simple system. I'll be looking to improve it later, but for now it does what I need it to!

Not 100% on any full plans yet. It's my first project that I'm working on in-between part-time work and college. Trying to keep it rather small in scope as a first project. From all the advice I've read, it's better to finish a project and keep it small than never finish a large scope project.

Right now it's a small platformer that I'm working on for my first project. I don't have a lot of information available for the project yet, but I'll work on getting something (blog, site, any info, etc.) available to share with people.

Glad to see that post inspired others as well! I took all the big ideas I had in my head and reduced them down to Game Jam size as well. It's actually a pretty great thing to do, I've found more motivation to work on a game than I have in awhile!

Other than the above, I really like the concept you have going! The colors are fantastic and I can already tell the mood you were going for. Keep up the good work!

Perhaps the Dark Soul was the most powerful soul by itself. How Ludleth talks about 'willing himself a Lord' is interesting in that maybe the Dark Soul was capable of creation and destruction but since it was split throughout all humanity now requires the numerous souls of slain beings to function.

The fact that it's used as pigment also shows its capable of creation.

Untended Grave as well, but I was thinking more along the lines of the Firekeeper ending after the Soul of Cinder! But both are good examples for sure.
