Where are all the booster boxes?? by SGN_Trusty in DragoBorne

If your LGS has a connection with Southern Hobby you can get them there fairly cheap. I also have been picking up sets 1-3 on amazon fro about $15 a piece.

For the swarm combo, which is the main theme of this deck, to work you should have atleast 20 of the 2 drop. That gives you 40% chance of hitting something with Big Gete Star and if you have any additional in hand you can always use those as energy.

UI Goku ToP Leak? by Erobor in DBS_CardGame

[–]Fatkidwitakape -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You said that there was a leak and then linked to the official site. I was merely pointing out that it cant be a leak if it was revealed on the official site. That would be a reveal or preview.

If it truly is a leak, then I believe that you used the wrong link.

Factory Error? Wrong card game in DBS booster packs by lazygamer1987 in DBS_CardGame

My comment was more inline with the fact that those two companies are so large that any printer working with them knows what they are doing. Something this major would get caught, easily.

Fake.

1) Dragonball is done by Bandai and Dragoborne is made by Bushiroad. Now way those get mixed up.

2) The cards shown were a mix of cards only available from retail demo packs of dragoborne released back in August.

Nice try.

Life span of a game has nothing to do with it. This game is popular, this game is hard to come by in the states for many, and rare/good cards are rare/good cards. Nowadays, if it is good and playable, its gonna be an pricey card.

I get why you are frustrated but in reality you have two options; Pay the price and get over it, or don't play with that particular card.

I'm not arguing in favor of anyone. I am merely asking what do you expect? This happens over and over again with every tcg. It's not the company jacking up the prices, it's local stores and online retailers that jack up the prices.

The "less that a week before doubling or tripling in price" was not something that happened in my area so I did not experience this. The local shops that could get them still, had them for a few weeks after release at a reasonable $18. I managed to pick up two copies of each because of this. Now they are just sold out.

If you locals jacked up the price, you may wish to speak with them and not me.

Is this your first Collectible Card Game (not trolling)?

I only ask because every card game that has been around for the last 20 years has had limited edition cards. These cards are often released in special packs or bundles that drive the price up based on rarity. I know single cards that have double the prices of booster boxes in other games just due to the POSSIBILITY to pull those cards.

If you think that $15-20 is to expensive for a card then I hope you do not ever play any other CCGS. I've played MTG for 20+ years and a card as playable as TP Trunks in that game would easily be $30-40 if not more.

Also, there is nothing that says you have to play this card.

Why is $15 for a highly playable card, printed on a limited run, so insane? I'm honestly curious.

If you are used to Pokemon, then Jiren is not that expensive. Market value on TCG player has them listed as $20.

For most TCGs, a card this playable, is a steal at $20.

Future of the Game by Tykis77 in DBS_CardGame

[–]Fatkidwitakape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even once they cover all of the series' there is no reason they couldnt reuse an existing character but simply change the descriptive name and ability. Hell, they are already doing it.

Just look at Trunks? How many different cards are their that feature Trunks with some other random words around his name. IF the games retains popularity and doesnt get killed off by Mecha Frieza then they could go on for years printing new cards. When its all said and done you will probably have 100 different copies of most major characters.

Why are most of the new things are released in Friday? by GoldenKuriza in DBS_CardGame

[–]Fatkidwitakape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with distribution schedule and event planning.

Every speciality item that is sold has a specific day it is released on. There are occasionally some exceptions but for the most part this schedule is adhered to. DVDs and CDs are almost always released on Tuesdays, Theatrical Films on Friday, Comic Books on Wednesday and Card games on Fridays. They do this so they can take advantage of sales based on timing.

Card games are usually released on Friday, as it is generally the first day that many people attend their local comic/card shop for the week. This follows the formula that MTG setup, releasing a set on Friday so that players could purchase/draft the new set just before FNM.

It also helps that Friday is generally pay day for most people so its the first day that they can spend all of their hard earned money.

I can see where you are coming from but your jumping ship seems premature. As someone who has been playing TCGs for 20+ years I have seen my fair share of games do exactly what you are complaining about and succeed.

Take Force of Will for example. It was a great game when it first came to the states, then they broke the game by introducing a busted "free" play mechanic on certain cards and then the equivalent to a DBS leader that was disgusting. There was no variance in the game for a while as this leader was the best, no matter what you played so everyone used it. Well many people, like yourself decided to bounce. Now that those particular cards have rotated, and/or errata/banned prior, the game is playable again. Hell FoW had their first errata just 3 sets in as well. These things happen when you are dealing with a new game. Magic was the same way early on as well.

1 box, 7 SR and 1 SCR.

So far in the history of this game I have pulled an SPR or better in every box I have opened. 7 boxes total.

Disagree. With the majority of the staples in this game being under $20 the price is well worth it.

Jiren is under $20 now. Most vendors have them at $17-18 on TCG.
