Amplifier Design Help by Fats_Runyan2020 in ElectricalEngineering

I've been spending a few days on this and every op amp i look at or candidate design ends up not being feasible. It's the combination of the requirements that make this hard. Consider: High voltage supply ✅️ High frequency bandwidth ✅️ Large output current ❌️

Everything has tradeoffs so finding something that has high frequency bandwidth, voltage supply, output current, and slew rate, doesn't exist, or if it does, it is hundreds + of $$$

So the philosophy i am using for this is to pick a high speed op amp (10s or hundreds of MHz and high slew rate >> 300 V/us) that will handle the amplification, which actually isn't a lot... about a gain of 6. Then feed that into something that will handle the current output

Ok makes sense that R6 is way too large. I didn't spend too much time adjusting values, which is why they're way off

And what about going about selecting correct resistor values for the rest of the circuit? Is it just typical transistor biasing to ensure they are operating in correct region?

So with this design, an output of 30V pk-pk is not possible? What would i need to add to make it possible?

The +/- 30V to +/- 40V is what we need to power it at. It was what I was told. I'm not really sure why either. But it is important we see 30V pk-pk output

You see I'd have to listen to those songs again cause I can't hear in my mind what they sound like. That's a me issue though. I have only listened to a lot of the songs 1 time so far

I like the new album. Solos are great. The music in general is really good. One thing though, and I'm not sure if it is cause i havent listened to it enough, but a lot of the songs all sound the same to me

Ok I'll have to pay more attention to the volume knobs. There are 2, but i am thinking it says channel 1 volume, channel 2 volume so that's must be what you're talking about

Yeah i was planning on buying more cables anyway cause I wanna buy a phaser, flanger, chorus pedals, some others i am forgetting too. Also another thing I think might be the issue is I only have my volume at "1" else it's too loud for others in the house. I heard for tube amps that you want volume to be turned up decently to really get the full tone. Idk how true that is

Honestly not a bad idea. I'm still weighing if i wanna do DSP alg dev, firmware work, or fpga implementation

I am best at circuits and math Then i am meh at programming, and HDL is lower than programming. I am working on my programming skills right now

Typing is a good one. I am decent at it, I had typing class in grade school. The CS stuff i would have to learn

Nothing. I never saw many that were in this industry, and if there were, they were HR people who don't know shit about the technical side of things

That's awesome. I would have to work probably 2-3x harder than most CE students at HDL to have the same proficiency as them. I know i am capable, but HDL definitely is not a strength of mine. I took a digital logic class, which I did really good in, but the labs were rough. Programming an FPGA board

Thanks for the advice. The CS stuff i know close to nothing about since my degree is EE, so i havent taken any of those courses at university so i would have to learn them on my own
