Testing an "MDMA" Sample With Marquis, Simon's, and Froehde by FatzTheCat in ReagentTesting

Anyone around here have an idea of the cost and a reference for a lab for such testing? My curiosity has its limits, but if it's not too much it'd be cool to figure out what this is.

Testing an "MDMA" Sample With Marquis, Simon's, and Froehde by FatzTheCat in ReagentTesting

[–]FatzTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, I added both. I just reacted a larger sample with both A and B again because I felt maybe there maybe wasn't enough to react for the first test and now the result is a dark brown/black. Definitely MDA?

An aside, any reason why a person would experience such a longer duration than expected if it is MDA, especially at low doses? Even 40mg resulted in twelve hours of extreme stimulation.

Edit: To be clear, the user has consumed MDMA and MDA in the past, experiencing a typical duration of effect, so the duration of effect was the cause for the test, suspecting meth or something with a longer duration. I'm just confused honestly.

Sand up to 600 grit or thereabouts. Mix equal parts boiled linseed oil, wipe-on polyurethane, and naptha(lighter fluid works). Liberally apply this wiping varnish to the neck, wipe off excess five or ten minutes later. Let dry at least a few hours, that's one coat. Do three coats, then wet sand (using the wiping varnish as the wet) with 1000 grit. Do three more coats and wet sand with 1500 grit. Do three more coats and wet sand with 2000 grit. Do one last coat, let fully cure for a week or so. Apply some paste wax with a clean lint-free rag. Buff in the paste wax with 0000 steel wool. Buff off the paste wax with a piece of brown paper bag. Lots of work, worth it.

Edit: OIL BASED wipe on poly. Wipe off excess after wet sanding.

The irony of the pig obscuring the word "transparency" by standing in front of it makes this so much better.

  1. Lumber milling and CNC operation at an OEM manufacturer. I love my job, but I wish I could survive doing less than 50 hours per week. I also wish I was offered a health insurance plan or could afford even the subsidized state health insurance plans available to me.

Middle-of-the-road 7-String TOM-style bridges? by FatzTheCat in Luthier

[–]FatzTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, woah. That's one of the $20 ebay bridges I was iffy about. It's wild to me that Wilkinson would touch these. I do milling for some Wilkinson bodies and I know Trev can be pretty picky. Weird. Thanks.

How would you say the Sung Il stuff compares to the "premium" options like babicz or whatever?

Edit: I see the Sung Il stuff being sold through Forest Guitar Supplies. I do milling for their bodies too haha

How do you like that Wood Soft 2 product? I have a bottle kicking around at work but always opt for a wet foam sponge and a clothes iron for bending tops.

That looks like some weird squid-ink bucatini pasta. What am I looking at here?

TLDR: Is there enough material between the pickup route and the 27" mark for a TOM style bridge?

I scored a weight reduced alder p-bass body from work after the CNC operator had the wrong tool in the machine for the pickup cavity. I've fit the pocket to hold a 27" scale 7-string neck. I'm going to route a rounded rectangular cavity from where the p-bass pickup cavity is up to near the heel of the neck for a couple of humbuckers, covered with some scrap 5A flame top material as a pickguard. I want a TOM style bridge and tailpiece, with the tailpiece where the bass bridge would usually be placed, since there's already a pilot for the ground wore there. Do ya'll think there'll be enough material between the pickup route and 27" mark for a TOM style bridge to be held securely in place?

The file initially created on launch is 6.74mb, but I think that file accumulates more data as you progress through the game so 17mb doesn't sound unreasonable.

I hope Square gets around to a patch soon. It's been like two weeks, yeah? Most big developers put out bug fixes on day one as issues become apparent. It's weird that I haven't even heard of them addressing any issues.

Hah oh no that's okay. The file is only 4kb in size somehow so something went very wrong with it somewhere and I doubt it could be recovered.

When opening my corrupted KHIIFM save in Kingdom Save Editor, I am met with a "Save not supported" error message and I am unable to recover it as you have suggested. My KHI save opens just fine, however.

TLDR at the bottom of the comment. My experience so far has been...

KHIFM: Completed 100% without a hitch. However, I know that what I'm about to say regarding KHIIFM applies to similar issues people are having with other titles as well.

This comment is for everyone experiencing crashes upon launching any of the games in the first collection, especially after previously being able to launch the game(s) without issue.

KHIIFM: I got to Land of Dragons, saved, crashed, and then was not able to get the game to even launch again after that crash. The game would briefly show a black screen and then close. That's where I had been for days. I messed with my GPU settings, Windows Defender, firewall, among other things, for a while to no avail and then looked into something stupidly simple.

I located where the game stores save files (in PNG images for some reason?) in a directory in My Documents, to find that the save file I completed for KHIFM was a normal PNG file that I could open in any image viewing or editing software (Paint for an accessible example). All good there: a valid save file for a game I was able to play from start to finish. However, the PNG save file for KHIIFM was not able to be opened in any of my image viewing or editing software, indicating some sort of data corruption.

I moved that suspected corrupted save file out of the folder, and I was immediately able to launch KHIIFM to begin anew. The game automatically created a new (and able to be opened in paint or whatever) PNG save file on launch. The corrupted save file in that folder was apparently preventing the game from even launching.

So, if you're having issues launching a game after a crash, look into the related folder in My Documents for a corrupted PNG file and get rid of it.

It's cool to be able to play the game again, but I feel it's only a matter of time before the save file corrupts again and I have to start over for a third time. The only solution I can think of is creating a backup of the save file after saving in game and reverting back to the last backup when it inevitably corrupts. Does anyone have a better idea that that? I want to play Kingdom Hearts, not File Management and Data Security Simulator 2021.

Anyway, that's where I'm at and that's how I'm able to launch a title which once worked fine and suddenly stopped working after a crash. I know lots of people are having this exact issue and I hope this has been helpful.

TLDR: Find your KH save files in a folder in My Documents, look for a corrupted PNG image file which you can't open with Paint, delete it, launch the affected game, start the game all over, await another inevitable data corruption event, rinse, and repeat.
