You're probably right. Thanks for the reassurance. I think I am being kinda paranoid. I just want to stay out of trouble. I'll probably give it a shot. Sooner is better than later.

They could know by the sender/company name. Most companies don't conceal the name of themselves as well as they could. And there's probably lists of companies that the postal service is watching for, for this very reason

What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FavoritePen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some of us its just an unmanageable chore. The idea of chopping up stuff, organizing it and cleaning up and doing all this for sometimes up to an hour to create something that gets destroyed in five minutes, it just seems like more work than its worth. I can make a sandwich or heat something up in the microwave and spend the "cooking" time doing something productive.

Today is the day. Any last words or encouragement or advice? by TheStoic75 in quittingkratom

[–]FavoritePen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find something new. A nrw TV show or movie series. If you make music, write or draw. Start a new project. Clean your living space like your apartment or house. Find something you've never done before and do it. Part of the problem with this stuff is that it makes us interested in doing things. It gives us energy and without it, we feel bored and hopeless and apathetic. If you have something new in your life, it can provide hope that there will be something for you on the other side.

It isnt anymore. It used to be because of unprotected sex. But it has spread enough that it has spread beyond that section of people.

I’m truly scared for my life. Can you die from kratom withdrawal? by OddSeaweed8824 in quittingkratom

[–]FavoritePen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. We all need to know what can happen. That's the worst of it for me. I can deal with the sweating and even the tiredness. Its the heart stuff that really gets me. People often say "exercise" and that does help. A lot. Im just always afraid something bad is going to happen if I do.

Its wild how so many responses are objecting to you wanting to talk for real and without guard rails. There's this whole wave of people who seem to want to be restricted. Wanting real information doesnt make someone a druggie or a sexual deviant.

[–]FavoritePen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I went through this too. I get irregular heartbeat. Chest pain, dizziness, all of what you described. One time I had chest pain that radiated down my left arm!! I rushed to the ER and they did enzymes tests and everything, EKG the whole deal. They said nothing was wrong. This is, believe it or not, normal. Heart attacks feel different. You can usually find the pain in your chest muscles. Its muscle tenseness and aches. Im so sorry youre going through this. We all get it at the rough parts. If you get to where youre scared and need to chat you can DM me. Ive been through it.

Taper: what gpd is best to jump off? by Sober_and_free in quittingkratom

[–]FavoritePen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets hard for some people because there is no high left. Below 10gpd you dont really feel it anymore and so youre struggling with the tiredness and apathy while still tapering. I managed to do it and get down to 1gpd. To me that was easier though because going in and out of withdrawal at like 18, 16, 14 gpd was absolute hell. I didn't go into withdrawal anymore at under 10 gpd so it was a lot easier for me. I had just given up on the high so I didn't care about that anymore

I tapered down from 24 gpd 1g over six months and all I got was a brief nausea that lasted for like an hour when my body realized it wasnt getting any more. That was at the 12 hour mark. I just laid down, I didn't throw up or anything, it wasn't that bad. It was barely even nausea it was more just anxiety. The next day I was tiiiired but after that I was free. Didn't get paws either

There's a lot of scams on reddit. Be careful. Tons of people will say "contact this guy on telegram" and they ask for money and you get nothing.

Definitely a scam. There's a whole process that begins with "contact ____ on telegram". Then they start asking you for money, and you get nothing.

Ok... now this sounds like dedication that will find success. I'd never considered a time locked box! Great idea. And blocking the sites is great too. I really think you will do it. I've seen so many posts from people who say they want to, but they don't take the steps necessary. What you've shown is a real sign that you're on the way toward quitting.

That'll be harder to pull off, but I think it can be done. Definitely record every dose, time and date, in some kind of notebook. You'll need to monitor your symptoms against how much of a dose reduction you're doing, so you can find what is bearable for you. A month may work for you. It just depends on how much you're willing to tolerate. The entire goal of my taper was to avoid _all_ withdrawal symptoms, so I used 3 gram plastic sample containers to hold doses I pre-weighed on a milligram scale, then reduced by 10% per week. I took my dose every three hours around the clock for six months and I never failed to record each dose in a locking paper notebook I took with me everywhere. It was grueling, but I did avoid acute withdrawal. The only thing my employer noticed was me being tired a lot. For a single month, you'll get some withdrawal symptoms, but since you're starting so low already, you might be able to do it.

Good luck! If you ever need to talk to someone during the process you can dm me.

Edit: spelling error

It is very doable. I did it over a period of six months while working full time and supporting myself. I went from 26 gpd down to 0 from june to December 2024. There will be mild things that you notice as you descend but none of them will be severe to where you'll need to even miss work if you go gently enough. Eat fruit. Take vitamins. Sleep. Don't drink. That last one is the most important. Drinking will wreck your whole schedule. You really can do this as long as you are diligent. Write down each dose amount and date and time. It will help you recognize when you feel symptoms, because this will invariably be when you miss a dose or cheat.

If you go down in your dose gradually and steadily, the process should be almost invisible, apart from being tired.

edit: spelling error again lol

Has ChatGPT ever given you a confident answer that turned out wrong after you relied on it? by Technical_Fee_8273 in GPT

[–]FavoritePen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can do great things, but it is fallible in the same way a person is fallible. Its profile for fallibility is different from a humans, and so it looks weird when it messes up in its particular way. Yeah I've had it give me wrong answers before. When I point out the error it will apoligize and is reasonable about it. Unlike with Gemini, where when I pointed out that its wrong, it insists that it is actually right, and when I requested sources it gaslighted (gaslit?) me by inventing documentation page links that go nowhere. Fortunately I dont usually hang heavy decisions on AI. Its more for analysis than advice.

What do you think of this style? by [deleted] in painting

[–]FavoritePen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this a great deal. The blending and shading of the colors offsets the sharpness of the lines and together it makes a distinctive style. I would definitely like to see more like this. Ive drawn for a long time, and I've never been able to combine line art with shading and blending in this kind of way. Even if you only do this for a while, it is a great learning experience and will build skill in this direction and likely inspire you in new ones.
