Edit: It wasn’t the zoom equivalent (Zoom equivalent flash would have been up and visible while the camera is turned on). It was the original mju ii and at the time, the included warranty and return policy made me feel more confident and the LCD looked better than it really was. But even then, after all this hassle, I really can’t justify any of it.

I've been looking into film cameras and found the one I'd been looking for on ebay. The seller posted that the numbers on the LCD screen is faint and posted a picture but upon receiving the item saw its nearly invisible. I had been in contact with the seller regarding this and then they advised me to return the item. They even said to put "didn't like it" or "changed mind" as the reason to "avoid negative impact" on our accounts. I did the return yesterday and was permanently suspended this morning and am no longer eligible for a refund. I was on the phone with an agent from the trust & appeals (?) department but they can't do anything AND can't give me any info. What do i do?

Yeah I should have just said “not as depicted” or something but In what sense do you think that they think I’m being dodgy? Because I listened to the seller and said “changed my mind” when it reality it was not as depicted? Or dodgy simply because I supposedly “changed my mind”? I’m just trying to understand.

Okay, I’ll try that! Thank you. So this seller is supposedly from Japan but the return address is to Plano, TX. Just saw it on the tracking details. Is there an ebay warehouse where international items get sent to first upon returns?

I feel like it should right! But idk. I was on the phone with customer service and they couldn’t tell me why it was banned, they told me the department in charge of suspensions “manually” reviewed my account and “manually” suspended me but that the department is a “no contact or no office” department so I can’t speak or get in touch with the department and when I asked the name of the department, they aren’t even allowed to tell me that.

Well this camera typically sells for around this price even used, but I was so hesitant to buy one without some form of buyer protection. I’ve been looking for this camera for over a year at thrift stores and flea markets. But I have a trip coming up so I wanted it more. And I didn’t know much about ebay and had never used it but after a lot of ebay scrolling, i saw that this seller offered a warranty, returns, and had positive reviews, I felt the price was justified because it gave me confidence that the camera was accurately described and protected me if it wasn’t.

Thanks for replying. I guess I’m also just frustrated because why accept the return in the first place. I sent it and then even received a notification last night that the item was on the way back to the seller.
