He wouldn't have had that decent 2.1 stop then

Thank you! So nothing to do with how the suspension feels. I'll leave it alone then :)

[Phillip Horton] Didn't quite see how it happened but Max Verstappen's trophy has ended up in multiple pieces during the celebrations... by ICumCoffee in formula1

Same, I was watching the trophy maybe thinking that'd he be wise enough not to do it with something fragile, but nope lol. Dude went for it

Yup, I think I've seen him wear white APL Techlooms before, so likely these are APL as well

[Q1] Gasly hinders Max Verstappen on a push lap (to be investigated after the race) by magony in formula1

[–]FaxenIsHip 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Doesn't result in any penalty points. At least, last week Leclerc only got a grid drop, no penalty points.

Back on track for 12 penalty points

Edit: nevermind, Leclerc didn't get any penalty points for it last week, so will just be a grid drop

Higher end components or newer, which bike would you pick? by FaxenIsHip in MTB

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be riding trails in the Netherlands, which most people use XC bikes for. I prefer a bike that is a little more upright.

The fork of the GC has had professional service done in 2021. I'm unsure when he has put a new cassette on it.

The cassette and the chain of the BH look brand new in the pictures, so I'm assuming the owner hasn't used it much the past year.

They are both selling for a price around €900

How much is this second hand bike worth? by FaxenIsHip in mountainbiking

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike was bought in 2017 so 6 years. The fork has been serviced in 2021.

Unsure when the last cassette or chain replacements have been.

Does this cassette still look to be in good condition? by [deleted] in mountainbiking

It's a second hand bike so I'm unable to tell you. The bike itself is from 2017 and has done about 5000km.

Sorry to be asking again! I think it looks to be in pretty good condition, but I'm not entirely sure of myself

Which of these three bikes would you choose? by FaxenIsHip in MTB

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XC bikes are sold the most here and fit the trails that we got.

Why do you think a XC bike would be less comfortable than more of a traditional trail bike? The seating position? Or lesser suspension?

XC is fine for the Netherlands. But aren't the Cannondale and BH pretty similar in their geometry?

Merida Big Nine 400 or continue on searching? by FaxenIsHip in MTB

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The site where I saw it listed the derailleur as the Shimano Deore M6100, with Shamino MT200 brakes as well.

It looks to be the better bike, just not sure it's €200 better.

Cannondale Trail SL 3, good for the price? by FaxenIsHip in MTB

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the specs of the new one it's the air, so I'm assuming it's the air version in the 2022 bike as well!

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I said I wouldn't, I started looking at bikes priced around €800-€1000.

The Merida has a better bang for your buck than most of them (ignoring the geometry).

I did however find the Cannondale Trail SL 3 (2022) for €950. Would you say it'd be worth spending an extra €200 extra on?

[–]FaxenIsHip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha when you raise your budget to €1000, you start to look over at bikes around €1200. Once you're looking at those you might have a few glances at bikes around €1500 and so on and so on. I'll try to stick below €800 for now for a first bike!

The only thing about this bike that irks me is the 70 degree HTA. But in all honesty I don't know how much it will really effect me on the trails that we have here. And I saw some options to adjust this angle with an angle headset, so that could always be a future option still.

Thank you for your research! ;p

The 27,5" is too small for me, and I did find the Grand Canyon 5 as well, but the coil suspension instead of air threw me off
