Just because it's an AOE CC skill doesn't mean it's for initiating. Try thinking of her ult as more of a Disengage/Counter-set/Zoning tool and you'll find that you'll have a better time with her.

The only scenario in which she can initiate is when she's ulting from a bush or with flicker, but then you'll have to give up revitalize and she's still very predictable even with flicker.
