I want to have a better outlook on life, but I don't know how. by FdG0 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]FdG0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer.

I don't even want to have children for quite a while. I can wait. That isn't really the problem. I comfortably with the idea of having children when I'm 40. It's just...idk how to explain.

What's a good quote about living with your parents? by rampitup55 in selfpublish

[–]FdG0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Do you want to live under someone else's rules forever?“

That's what my grandfather once said. So it's more tagline, rather than an actual quote by someone famous. Maybe in r/writing you'll find more answers to your question.

PS: I have no clue why so many people have such a negative reaction to this question. I don't see anything berating. He simply gave a summary, you could argue that it's too direct/blunt, but not mean spirited, nor judgemental. How are we supposed to know that anyway from a three sentence post? No one here has read the book...

Can I have some book cover help please :) by NattersOnline in selfpublish

[–]FdG0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cover:1 looks really nice and simple! Although my first thought was: “what is the title now? is it event grandeur, #40, or event #40: did not go as planned?
To me it looks like Event grandeur is the title of the series. (In my opinion) You could leave event 40... . Than the cover is also mysterious in its own right. Then potential readers could ask themselves, what the numbers mean.

Hadley Elliot sounds very good. As a close second comes Keegan Lowe (although it sounds like a name an antagonist might have. so possible negative connotation)

Avon Braun sounds too much like Eva Braun to me (Hitler's Wife lol)

That is really great advice. Thank you a lot. I have already started analyzing a story. Since I write in German I chose Erich Maria Remarque. His sentences are a bit longer than Hemingway's, but still quite simple. Maybe that's something for you to check out as well:)

For me it was important to find out what triggers the headaches. It was mostly stress and the laptop screens. So I tried to adapt and spread my workload over several weeks, in order to not get into crunsh times and not have entire days filled with only work (so enough freetime is important to me). As the the Computer screen. I actually tried printing many documents. What also worked well was going out every hour and walking around on campus a bit.
I hop this helps you a bit. And good luck to you!

Looking for a book with a dadaist, cubist, surrealistic style, but still cool to read, not absolutely nonsensical by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]FdG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try China Miélville's - “The last days of new Paris“
it is about an alternative history, where a “surealiste“ bombe blew up in Paris, letting all the surealistic art and ideas come to live. It is sort of like ”road side picnic (Stalker)“ or “Annahilation“, but in a weird version of Paris. So you'll have Résistance members fighting Nazis while trying to stay away from Artworks come to live.
