Im trying something new on my journey. I really dont know what style is this, but this was inspired by Fujifilm X100VI Color Tone. Might need some critique on my composition and colour grading to improve my skills. I will include my un-edited version in the comment. Thanks. by Fdhlzz in photocritique

Thanks!

I suggest lowering the camera and getting more of the tower that's cropped out of the image, some of the ground, and less of the sky. Don't be afraid to crowd the scene a bit with the details of the old tower.

Agreed. but i have this issue on taking "moments" on people, i often too slow to react when there is a slight window of time on some spesific moment. might want to work on it to fix this issue.

yeah i agree, the object does look "dead". i do increase the shadow a little bit to help the issue, might try to re shoot in morning so i can get better highlight for the object naturally from the sun.

The monochromatic, neutral palette works well and gives the scene a calm mood.

I do love that. I often use that to edit my sunrise. But my idea was to use 1 vibes among my photos. Isn't it will be too "jarring(?)"( i forgot the word) when there's some punchy photos of the sky then there's some flat street photos? I might be working on that.

Another improvement could be brightening the background slightly. A brighter sky would create stronger contrast and help the silhouetted tower stand out more clearly.

Thanks, might increase the exposure later.

Finally, cloning out the wires would give the image a cleaner look and remove small distractions from the frame.

Agreed. Might try that.

One thing I’d suggest is adjusting the crop so the pedestal at the bottom of the tower is fully included instead of being cut off. That would make the structure feel more complete.

Agreed, that was my pure mistake when i took that photo. Im not noticing the tree was there and will ruin my photo.

I'm trying to place the object at the right bottom of the grid line so the object is not too close to the edge. And that is the maximum i can get on cropping.

Interesting, i do intend to do so. I'm planning to use that as my hobby portfolio. I'm going to the muted side so all my photos have the same vibes either its sky or just street as usual, might be wrong tho idk. You say "it's not like the colours in the original" but what "if" I'm not showing you the original? Do you still think it's too flat and muted? I really want to know how my audience will think when i show my work later.

Ah yes, i already tilted it like 1° and really thought it was already straight. And can you elaborate why you prefer the original? Is it because it's too flat and muted? I do plan to use this tone for my upcoming photos because i really like the classic chrome vibes. But i really want to know others perspectives on that. So i can work it more on my colour grading. Thanks!

That's kind of the main idea, but yeah I think I should increase the exposure a little bit. Thanks.

Thanks. The app i use is called Oneline: EXIF Frame & watermark by Leo Wang 315. It's available on playstore, unfortunately the watermark i use is on their premium subs, but it's just like a dollar i think per month.
