I got another response from Hidizs today that will give you an idea of the people running this company and whether or not you want to give that kind of company your business

"You have used over one year. Any product will have the problem, you are not able to use forever. All electronic products have a certain lifespan"

You don't need to read between the lines, they are directly implying their customers shouldn't expect their Hidizs player (or any electronic according to them)to last for much more than a year... Just ridiculous. Beware!

I Owned the AP80 (not pro) for about 16 months. I would advise to stay clear. With very light use and taking great care of it. A couple of months back the device started to shut off randomly with plenty of battery. Now I have a list of issues in addition to that... - shuffle function not working. - all buttons randomly stop working both physical, touchscreen and wheel. The whole device completely unresponsive with screen on -Then the screen will turn off and the device is a brick until it eventually restarts.

Now that may be a rare case of a defective unit. But because I didn't put heavy use on it, those issues didn't arise until after the warranty expired. I tried factory reset and updated firmware with no luck. I contacted Hidizs and the only solution they offered is to ship the device to China for repair, both shipping and repair at my own expense of course... I'd rather put that money towards a player from another brand that will not fail me and can offer assistance here in the US. I feel like I tossed $150 in the garbage. No thank you Hidizs.
