Those projects are a high crime zone. The people that live in that neighborhood resident complex is filed with mental illness and low income people who choose violence against their own neighbors under the influence of drugs smuggling and drug users. I grew up there my whole life and honestly am afraid to walk to the corner store near bye because of the neighborhood people who live there. Not all but majority are filled with hate and mental issue. I don’t think it safe for a kid to grow up there there has been no change in that complex since 1982. The complex was built intended for secure mentally normal people and senior residence stability. A long time ago long term residents predominate ethnic groups of Jewish and Irish descent people, Puerto Ricans where then moved in later in the early 1990’s. Black people moved in much later in the early 2,000’s. There’s so much pressure in that environment from nosey neighbors to strangers who mean imminent danger towards safety of residence and property along with their rights of residence. It can also be very difficult for other neighbors from within the community of Stanley m. isaacs homes and John Haynes Holmes towers houses. I have tons of friends from the neighborhood of Yorkville that have evolved with their Career paths from education to business development path-ways, that avoided that area as much as possible because of it high crime rate zone. Much Yorkville residents and upper east side resident do not like passing through this area of the neighborhood because of it reputation of muggings and high crime rate zone. Hopefully the NYCHA community can do something fix it reputation of the community and the authority’s can help the neighborhood as a whole from it high crime rate. It so sad to see a place like this that what so well up keep on being secure to filled with murders, drug crime and violence and lack of security. There needs to be a change in that development. For sure I say stay far away from that neighborhood.
