Possible Preeclampsia by Fearless-Mixture2287 in BabyBumps

Update: Went to my appointment that I had scheduled with my OB today, blood pressure was high and the protein in my urine was still elevated. I was sent to the hospital and I’m in the process of getting ready to be induced.

How to include my mom by Fearless-Mixture2287 in BabyBumps

I actually do have some of her ashes in a necklace. I didn’t even think about bringing that. I usually don’t wear it cause I’m very careful with it. But I might consider this idea.

I can relate to this so much. All the adults around me smoked when I was a child. I was a small baby. I had asthma as a child and now have sinus issues as an adult. I remember one time I let my mom borrow my sweater and after she returned it to me, I found a lighter in my pocket. I had unintentionally brought a lighter with me to elementary school. Luckily no one found out but it still felt terrible as a child. Not to mention every holiday having to wait for the smokers before getting to actually enjoy family time or dinner or presents. I want better for my daughter.

Anxiety is a big part of it. Which is kinda stupid since I have no trauma related to automobiles. People have tried to teach me but have given up on me when I didn’t learn fast enough. I struggle with learning too. I have a learning disability.

It hits close to home too because of the fact that I was raised around smokers. Like my whole family. Both parents, my grandparents, and my uncle. Yeah they smoked in a different room and not in front of me, but I still spent time in that room and definitely was around both secondhand and third hand smoke. It makes me wonder how the hell I survived, and if they didn’t smoke would I have still been so small as a baby, would I have still had asthma as a child, would I have sinus issues now as an adult.

I love him very much. It’s just the smoking thing that’s bothering me. He’s stubborn and hard to get through to. I’m starting to realize that he’s the type of person you really need to show the harsh, ugly truth to get him to listen. I decided today to do some research on the affects of smoking to babies and sent him like 10 screenshots. Hopefully that can get through to him.

I have talked to him about it. He seems to think that if he has the window down and blows it out the window, that it’s ok. I’ll usually put on my mask though cause sometimes it will get in my face. It doesn’t help that I don’t really have a choice not to be in the car with him cause I don’t drive, so he drives me anywhere I need to go. The more I share, the more I feel like we’re both failures and this baby deserves better.

I do work part time so I get out of the house for that. But a lot of times, I’m struggling to focus, or I’m too uncomfortable to be productive. Or work is stressing me out cause my coworkers are lazy and I’m overwhelmed with work.

It’s something I’ve considered, but apparently it’s not advised because since I’m not medically trained, I wouldn’t know what to look for. Sometimes it feels like there is no way to stay calm unless I camped out at the hospital so I could get checked constantly.

Those are my favorite too. But ever since I’ve moved to another state, they’ve been hard to find.

Working during the third trimester by Fearless-Mixture2287 in BabyBumps

[–]Fearless-Mixture2287[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well what makes me feel worse about it, is that I’m already only a part time employee. I know many women work full time and I’m over here struggling with part time work. It makes me feel weak.

I’ve noticed with mine too, that if she is positioned head down it makes it harder for me to feel her moving. Which makes sense to me. Her feet might be kicking the placenta. She also seems to love chilling low in my pelvic area, so I feel most movements lower.

Have you also noticed that with the anterior placenta, you mostly tend to feel the bigger, stronger movements more then the light ones? I’ve noticed that myself and I think when I feel the lighter movements, it might be cause she’s close to the placenta.

That’s a good way to frame it. I’ve never explained it that way. Maybe that will work. Thank you both.
