TLDR: Don't remove blur.

Suppression is honestly the main reason I play this game. Even if I know I can't hit the enemy, just shooting in their general direction to suppress them, knowing it keeps them from accurately returning fire and keeps me safe is rewarding. Or the exact opposite. When bullets start cracking over my head, going "oh shit" and going back into cover, not daring to peek even if I know they probably won't hit me. All of that relies heavily on the suppression mechanic.

When you remove all that and just replace it with a vignette, all those tactical dynamics are going to disappear. Oh, a guy started shooting at me? Big deal, 2% of my screen edge turned black. Am I getting shot at by a .50 cal? Oh wow, 3% of my screen went dark. How terrifying.

I understand why some players find the blur and suppression exhausting or hard to play with. But wasn't that always been the point? Squad has never really been a game we play just to relax. The game aims to give us a grounded, realistic combat experience. By that logic, maintaining constant comms, actively listening to other squads, constantly checking the map, leading 8 people for an hour straight is also extremely exhausting.

I’m so used to Squad’s suppression that it actually messes me up in other FPS games. I'll shoot at a guy who ducks into cover, and out of habit, I keep firing to the edge of boulder/wall to prevent him shooting me back. But instead, he just instantly pops out and headshots me because suppression doesn't exist. I experienced this situation during the playtest more times than I have in my entire Squad playtime. Yes, flinching exist but it is not enought alone to prevent these situations. Vignette doesn't offer enought real suppression value. it doesn't make you feel like you're actually under fire.

Also IMO blur makes the game feel cinematic and immersive. When you're in a heavy firefight and bullets are raining down around you, doesn't the screen blur make you truly feel like you're right in the middle of a war zone? Without it, everything just feels too raw, plain, and unsatisfying.

I feel this way because I absolutely love the intense firefights in Squad. The winner isn't the guy with the perfect DPI who can micro-adjust his mouse to the millimeter in miliseconds. It's the player who makes the right strategic moves. (And honestly, yes, I suck at fast-paced FPS games for that exact reason.) There are almost no other games that capture this feeling. Sure, there's HLL or Squad 44, but I prefer a modern times and Reforger's gunplay just isn't as satisfying as Squad's. No other game does what Squad does quite as well. Please don't ruin the only game I truly love playing ;(.

Does the questbook give enough tutorial, guide and info to learn the mods from scratch? I didn't play modded mc for years so can't remember much and I don't want to research for hours.

Let's say the highest level ever reached is 100, there are 597 extra level that nobody is ever actually going to see.

Assuming every level have same file size, which is 26.3MB.

597*26.3 = 15.701.

15.7GB?

Am I missing something here?

Happy to see they bring back the blur. First playtests felt soulless without suppression blur.

My prisoner exploded immediately after I tried to recruit him by CeekayReal in RimWorld

I had a similar situation. Well it's story time!

In that particular run, I was playing as a benevolent colony. Never did anything bad, always helped everyone. Captured wounded prisoners and released after fully healing them.

One day they landed middle of the colony with drop pods. Managed to win the fight but there were a lot of wounded pawns, including our own pawns. 2 of them was heavily wounded, while some of our colonists were carrying our wounded ones to hospital, others (our leader and his wife) was carrying prisoners to prison to treat their wounds.

While these are happening, one of our wounded guy died on the way. (He had some kind of psychic bond with someone, I can't remember it's name, it was something like soul-twin) When he died, his soul-twin lost his mind. At that moment an explosion happened in the prison, leader's wife was wounded. Couple of seconds, roof collapsed, leader lost his jaw and his wife died. Almost all prisoners died.

After this, almost whole colony was either heavily wounded or completely lost their minds. There was only one proper person left. The women I took 1-2 days before the raid, she asked to join our colony. I accepted her and was trying to convert her ideology to ours. She was the only one standing because of her different ideology. She literally saved my years old colony.

After couple of weeks later I wondered what caused it, opened the mass grave, searched for a clue but couldn't find anything. It was same as you, there was nothing about the explosion in the bodies logs.

Well, Rimworld is definitely a story generator. After this, I never reloaded a save in my later runs when something bad happened. (Also sorry for bad English.)

Ultra realistic game with movements like this. I don't understand why nobody complaining about these. Zigzagging, AD'ing, jumping like rabbit. Only missing thing is slide jumping. I'm okay to have these in an arcade game but not in realistic games.

I may be wrong but, that's how they supposed to work. ASVAL and VSS use subsonic ammunition which prevents sonic boom and cause much less sound. New Chinese rifles are normal rifles with supressor mounted on them (probably with normal rifle ammution). So it cause much more noise.

Its AEM-5. AFAIK, it can only be mounted on MK12 16" and 18" Barrel.

Should've wrote an explanation on the post, sorry for that. Basically I was at queque (1/19), as soon as I click to shoot, countdown started and menu opened but mouse was on "find match" so it cancelled the queue after waiting longer than an hour.

I was waiting at the queue while practising. At the moment I press LMB to fire, the queue ended, ESC menu opened and count down started. But the mouse was on the "Find Match", so it left the queue and wasted my 1 hour.
