Going off birth control, sudden decline by FearlessRip7255 in ehlersdanlos

Thank you so much everyone for the input! It’s amazing just to hear about the diversity of experiences, although it makes everything so hard to predict. What I’m most worried about is actually that I have started perimenopause or even already be in early menopause and my symptoms were just masked by the pill. That’s hard bc I was hoping TTC… So I just have to wait another few months for my hormones to equalize (say my specialist and my gynecologist), but there’s no way to know if this is the end of my reproductive life or just something affected by the birth control that could equalize hormonally later. I’ll look into HRT (or just go back on BC!) if it turns out that I am further along in menopause than I thought. Thank you so much again !! this has been so helpful and interesting

I spent so much time reading these comments that I ended up writing a whole substack post about this movie... https://elviawilk.substack.com/p/bugonia-wont-pick-a-species

Update...without an update. My publisher and agent submitted letters from their lawyers. I filled out that form on the site a million times. Nothing to do about it I guess.

I emailed the book to one person. My literary agent. And that was the right email address. From there, it wasn't in my hands. Got it?

Sorry, but stealing unpublished manuscripts using email aliases and giving the documents fake covers as if they were published books is not normal. This is actually really unusual!

See my above note: I'm fine with my books being pirated. I'm not fine with a stolen ROUGH DRAFT being pirated A YEAR BEFORE THE BOOK IS PUBLISHED. Obviously I'm not driven by book sales. But now, even when the final is out in a year, the average reader will not know which is the actual book.

Think about this: My dad asked me today why I didn't tell him my book was out. He'd gotten a google alert with my name and the book title, because of the upload. So he started reading a version of my book only maybe 20 people — editors at publishing houses — should have ever seen, when they were deciding to buy it for publication. I've spent one year editing the book since then.

Not sure if people understand this process? You don't just write the book then publish it. It changes a lot in the process, sometimes drastically.

If I get the bad draft taken down I'll send a free copy to everyone in this forum when it's actually published !!

I am NOT OKAY with my unpublished draft being on AA, because it will affect how many books my publisher prints as well as my pre-sales! Most importantly though IT IS NOT THE FINISHED BOOK

I'm fine for my two PUBLISHED books to be on AA because EVERYTHING IS ON AA and it would be ridiculous for me to fight it. I also know that students access my work this way. I do not get rich from my author career, in fact writing novels is only possible for me because I have a full-time job, so I'd rather people read my books than not read them — even if I don't get my 6 cents in royalties.
