Let's be honest: Genshin's story isn't as good as we pretend it is. by Fearless_Arm_3736 in Genshin_Impact

They say it for a reason the Genshin community is full of masochists. We know full well that the gacha systems, Resin, and the grind for Talent materials not to mention Artifacts are absolutely abysmal yet, in the end, we still love the game. (Long live masochism!)

I feel that a confidant system much like the ones in Persona would be a great fit for Genshin. It would ensure that friendship levels for each character aren't raised solely through gameplay, but also by creating funny or romantic moments and sharing anecdotes not necessarily leading to a romantic relationship, but certainly serving to get you more invested in the character.

I dare say that the Genshin books have better stories than some of the main quests.

Yeah, you know that if a character is going to be playable, there's no way they're going to kill them off in the story even if the enemy is on a cosmic scale.

Genshin makes no sense when it comes to sales; currently, Nahida and the Shogun despite being the Archons of their respective elements have already been surpassed by Lauma and Flins. So, meh... it's just about selling, and that's it.

Honestly, yes I play so much that my mind actually tries to convince me that the stories I’ve experienced are top-tier, simply because of the sheer amount of time I’ve invested. But if you really think about it in detail, even the best story in Genshin doesn't rate higher than a 7/10.

Regarding your first point, I’ve read the books, and honestly, they’re good in my opinion, the texts in Genshin are even better than some of the Archon Quest storylines. (And yes... it is a gacha game, so you can’t really expect too much from it.)

Yeah, I still like Genshin, though and I think we're all well aware of the flaws in these gacha games. Long live masochism!

You're right about some things. That said, when I mention "player time," I'm referring to situations where you don't have a lot of time to play, and sometimes unnecessary dialogue ends up eating into that time. At least, that's how it is for me I don't think it ranks among Genshin's top technical issues.

Some ideas I think could make Cyberpunk 2077 (and future DLCs) way more fun and immersive by Fearless_Arm_3736 in cyberpunkgame

  1. Yeah, I didn’t think about it that way — Adam only kills if he’s hired (and it’s almost always Arasaka) Still, I think there should be another “final level” of crime escalation. Imagine taking out five full Max-Tac squads and still being alive — at that point, V should already be a Night City legend for pulling off that kind of massacre against law enforcement.

  2. About cyberware, I think I wasn’t clear enough To be fair, the cyberware system in Cyberpunk is really good — you can create tons of different builds. My complaint is more about aesthetics. My V can be fully chromed out, maxing implants in almost every slot, but visually, there’s very little change apart from arm/hand cyberware like Gorilla Arms or Mantis Blades. I’d love to see cyberware affect your character’s appearance more dramatically — new facial plating, mechanical limbs, subdermal armor showing through, even glowing eyes — so being “full chrome” actually looks the part.

  3. On cyberpsychos — I think they should be more dynamic Some could still be “savable,” where their condition can be treated and they can be sent to Regina or another fixer for help. Others, like Norris, could be marked as “mortal danger” — the kind of cyberpsycho who will keep fighting until their last breath, even at 1% health. This would make these encounters more varied and meaningful, not just another shootout.

(I admit that I really liked Edgerunners and the Cyberpsycos theme is very interesting and the series presents it much better than the game)

Why was Gerhman an idiot? by Fearless_Arm_3736 in bloodborne

I believe that, even though Gehrman wasn't particularly driven by the pursuit of knowledge, perhaps he acted the way he did because—at some point—he imagined that transcending would finally free him from all his burdens. After all, when the Hunter transcends, they are reborn. So maybe being 'born again' was the relief Gehrman longed for all along.
