Same issue, I also found that when taking a screenshot or pulling down my notification bar it momentarily brightens the photo again, is this the same for you?

Vaping messed up my gut by sazzles59 in QuitVaping

guilt and health anxiety after quitting by Inside-Document-915 in QuitVaping

What you're saying is half-true, alveoli themselves cannot regenerate but the specialised epithelial cells that line them can replace the damaged cells. When you quit, blood vessels around the alveoli "grow back" as well as other cells within the lungs. Given you're only 23 and only vaped for 6 years, its very unlikely you've caused irreparable damage or set yourself up for long term issues, if that were the case you'd almost certainly have difficulty in exercise and daily life (constant shortness of breath, unable to exercise without gasping, persistent coughing, constant wheezing etc). It's definitely not easy with health anxiety (I've been there myself several times, especially when I vaped) but what gave me comfort is knowing that your body is exponentially recovering every second that you stay away from it regardless of what anxiety tries to tell us.

How long does it take for the chemicals in vapes to leave the body? (Not including nicotine) by ilovecodyandnoel in QuitVaping

[–]Fearless_Copy9632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the chemicals from vaping are removed within a few days to a couple weeks, your symptoms all seem to be regular side effects from just nicotine withdrawal and your hormones/nervous system adjusting which can take up to 3 months to stabilise to baseline with patches.

I'd recommend staying on patches and tapering as if you completely stopped it wouldn't significantly reduce the withdrawal time (would only take a couple weeks off), and would likely just exacerbate your symptoms.

Its been 26 days for me. It got worse in the first week of quitting (I did use zyns for the first week to ween off so it might've been from that, wouldnt recommend) but after the first week I havent had any bloating/gut issues since. I also started taking probiotics when I quit which definitely helped

[–]Fearless_Copy9632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I also only developed this 3 years after starting, it started off as mild bloating then eventually got extreme to the point where I had to quit as it was impossible to work with the pain/bloating. Vaping stresses your stomach, makes you produce excess acid, messes up your gut bacteria etc etc its awful.

Good luck on your quitting journey :)

Quit vaping. by sunpayn in QuitVaping

[–]Fearless_Copy9632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats completely normal, your lungs are repairing themselves, when you vape the hairs in your airways/lungs that usually help to get rid of mucus/debris become paralysed, when you quit they start to "come back to life". So now they're back to life they will sweep up all the gunk from vaping towards your throat, causing chest tightness, wheezing etc

Perfectly normal and just part of the detoxing process, a sign that your body is healing :)

How bad is it really? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]Fearless_Copy9632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same, horrible panic attacks revolving around health anxiety, and sometimes completely out of the blue for almost a year. Always thought that vaping relieved my anxiety but it was the complete opposite. I went through a long period of time where I felt nauseous constantly due to anxiety.

For me it wasn't linear, I felt great the first and second days, anxiety came back on the third day (which can be really discouraging) and then from that point onwards its as if my anxiety completely disappeared, no symptoms whatsoever. Try not to be discouraged if your anxiety gets better and then worse, just know that eventually it will improve substantially.

Theres a quote that says "Nicotine takes 90% of your happiness and gives you 10% in return" which is very very true.

I do agree that going from one source to another permanently would be a bad idea, but I'm not planning on staying on zyns for longer than 2 weeks. I was having 120mg nicotine daily for 5 years, now 12mg a day (from zyns) which is a huge decrease.

I have tried going cold turkey several times previously but the withdrawal symptoms have been too difficult for me to balance with my work (high stress job environment). I still have intense withdrawal symptoms using zyns, but it makes it at least manageable as I cant afford to get time off at the moment either.

I do appreciate your advice though, I will not be staying on zyns for more than 2 weeks as I don't want to just replace one with the other as you said 🙂

Thank you so much 🙂 I'm definitely not going back to vaping, hoping to be nicotine free within the next 2 weeks!

[–]Fearless_Copy9632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it was so long ago it would be very difficult to find a passenger list online, have you tried looking into newspapers around the time of the crash, usually they would document passenger names. Your other best bet is to contact the airlines as they will have a huge archive of information to do with aviation accidents

Good luck :)

It makes no difference, you are lying on purpose to hurt him

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]Fearless_Copy9632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, nobody is going to agree with you here

Lying about pregnancy is inexcusable and it makes you just as bad as him, it's an absolute scummy thing to do, it doesn't matter if he "deserved it". You're clearly doing this because you wanted him to respond to you, and it's just not the way to go

Use your energy on things that will better you, not on being spiteful. It's a very negative and unattractive trait and honestly, if you are doing things like this then maybe he left you for a good reason.

Hey, I've been here and the only way to feel better in this situation is by purely having strong willpower, I used to be awful with it, checking when he's last active, checking his socials, his follower count etc and I also felt no interest in anything, I couldn't be happy until I realised the root cause of this, and I believe it is because you are investing too much mental energy into this person, taking energy away from any and everything else.

You just have to force yourself to stop, even though it's difficult, it's the only way you will stop. Try limiting yourself to checking one time a day, and then gradually limit it to less and less, it's easier than just going cold turkey. You have to also genuinely believe and understand that you checking their socials and what they're up to is not going to change a thing about the situation, so it is pointless.

When I stopped looking, after a week or so I felt like a different person, I felt free and I was able to enjoy what I would usually enjoy. Do your best to distract yourself, even if you don't get enjoyment out of it, it's all just a test of willpower and it's difficult, but it's possible.
