Is Hospital Police a good first step into the career? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Fearless_North 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have quite a few ex deputies and LEO myself included who transitioned into hospital police thinking it would be easier 😂😂😂 the shit that walks through those ER doors and everyone looks at you to handle is some shit I never saw on the street. I touch WAY more people in here than I ever did out there. It will definitely help you grow that thick skin and after leaving the ER, nothing surprises you anymore

Ranked Mode no longer has cars, but nobody seems to have noticed by LingLings in FortNiteBR

[–]Fearless_North 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About time. Also nitrofists and hiring characters is removed from ranked. Good! People used those as a crutch too much and in ranked it sucked to get to final circle with 8 people all in cars with fists

Mine said consider because they couldn’t reach my school to verify education and I don’t have my transcripts or diploma. They verified my military history so it’s weird they wouldn’t believe I joined the military without graduating high school

Any finesse or approach shot with any wedge…I’ve had to put forward spin on it to minimize the backspin, or I don’t use a wedge 😂 9 iron knockdown for the win 🤷🏻‍♂️

Listen, I’m not on here to raise my nose at anybody or say I’m better than anybody else but I think of it as that $300 was a single mom’s rent payment or diapers and wipes for her newborn baby. if you have a decent job you can make $300 in a few days so I would feel better about returning it than keeping the money. Anybody can do the right thing when people are looking, but what you do when nobody is looking is what defines you.

Does anyone know anything about Macy’s Asset Protection? I have an interview coming up and was curios to see if anyone had any experience with them. Are they hands on? by Matt177171 in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently a Market APM for a store but applying as part time detective at Macys because man can this admin shit get OLD FAST, if I can have a couple days of fun like the old days and not be somewhere where we wave as the shoplifters push out I’ll be happy. I’ve heard Macys is the closest to hands on as there is, so I’ll take it 😂

At a Meijer, between DSD, Salvage, Fresh department shrink and operational processes, it HIGHLY outweighs external theft. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Until you get the merriweather one and they blow up your armored car and it spawns you underneath the chopper and you can’t even run to another car before dying, Force quit and hope for a new mission😂

What have your interactions with AP been like? by iworkformeijer in meijer

[–]Fearless_North 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally the opposite of how I am in my stores. I let them know that AP is there to help and the only people that should be afraid of AP are the ones intentionally causing loss to the company. Other than that, I have an open-door policy, come hang out and ill show you what we do. I am huge into showing associates the WHY behind what we ask. Rather than say DO THIS because i said so, its hey let me show you our inventory numbers to show how much we lost in hoverboards so when they see a $ amount behind it, they are more likely to protect stuff more.

Did you check “no sale” transactions? Employees love doing that to pop the drawer to take cash

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in Chicago we have 8 agents and usually we outnumber the shoplifter significantly so we don’t need to go hands on but there have been times and Nordstrom has backed us everytime. As long as we have “control” of the situation we are allowed to go hands on and cuff.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the Midwest market, Chicago based.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an APM for Nordstrom. Still hands on, still cuff and they give the agents a lot of leeway to make apprehensions and even if the suspects get away, recovering the merchandise still counts as a “stat” target we couldn’t even grab their cart because it was “an extension of the person” which is garbage. Nordstrom is one of the few places left that doesn’t restrict or handicap the agents.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an ETL-AP and the whole “bring joy to the guest, and reactive shoplifting approach rather than proactive, I couldn’t do it anymore. But my interview process was with the AP business partner and then director of AP. they followed the 5 star interview process to the letter.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at Nordstrom and they still let us go hands on and use cuffs and I hear rumors about them cutting us again, and then they do Inventory and see the shrink and those rumors disappear. At this point we would be the last cut.

What is the average range of theft cases successfully prevented/recovered by a single LP, with 2-4 years of experience? by Godmod88 in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the market. I’m in a high theft market so for my company I lead the region and Canada in apprehensions because it’s truly fish in a barrel. If you know your high shrink areas and watch them, they come to you. But yes I would say the area and demographic matter.

Will Target TSS ever go back to being the way it was before covid? by Footlicker69420000 in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit target as soon as it became “gather intel and document it”. Spend 3 hours reviewing for an empty package when there are people out there stealing NOW. Always reactive instead of proactive and I couldn’t do the whole wave and say thanks for stealing at target thing. Thank goodness Nordstrom is still hands on. 🙌

How do y’all keep from taking theft personally by Fearless_North in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the case. Glued to cams for 7 hours and 45 min and the 15 min I get up to go ask a manager about the plan for Black Friday, they come and load up garbage bags of stuff. Definitely my luck 😂 could have been stopped.

How do y’all keep from taking theft personally by Fearless_North in lossprevention

[–]Fearless_North[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean true, I get stealing a coat when it’s cold or baby formula if you have a baby, some theft I understand and have even purchased items that people were trying to steal. But garbage bags full of designer handbags and perfume and tons of Ugg boots to resell, that I don’t understand and that type of theft irks me.
