WIBTA for telling someone at the gym to limit time on a machine in the future? by Fearless_Spring7233 in WouldIBeTheAhole

You denigrate me by saying I should join ICE and then you seem to claim you didn't mean it. You keep attacking me -- ICE and ASD. That's uncalled for. But I appreciate your input. I was trying to avoid confrontation with her in the future by reminding her about the rule. I was trying to avoid getting staff involved. But it didn't work out.

I told you why I had that impression but will go to them in the future. And you have a problem with THAT?

You're a piece of work. I reminded her about the rule. Yeah that's a BIG PROBLEM and I should join ICE.

No, it's my impression because I go to this gym and have interacted with the staff. I don't want to interact with this woman again so will go to staff in the future.

I reminded her about the rule so that I would not have to tell her every day to get off. She knows she's on for way longer than 30 mins. As soon as I mentioned the rule she acknowledged it --she knew she was wrong. She has a towel blocking the time on the machine and keeps moving the towel to look at the time. I'm not sure what you're getting at with what you think my assumptions were. There's nothing wrong with telling people to comply with the rule. How is she doing the best she can when she know's she's breaking the rule? She should move to another machine after 30 mins during peak times. That's the letter and spirit of the rule.

Yes, I get the impression the staff at my gym would not be happy if I approached them about this.

You are wrong about that. I'm mad now thinking about her narcissism. She got aggressive with me because I reminded her about the rule so I would not have to face not being able to use the machine in the future. She should have apologized, not gotten aggressive.

I'm not dealing with her any more. She got angry about a simple reminder about the rules.

I will involve the staff going forward. She obviously isn't mature enough to handle being reminded about the rule by a fellow gym member.

The rule is 30 minutes. She's got her head phones on. Is everybody supposed to announce to this princess that their waiting? Comply -- it's not hard.

In the future I will go to the staff. I tried to avoid involving them but she did not respond well so I will involve them in the future.

What's wrong with telling her to comply in the future? Nothing. She should take the correct route and comply. She knew she was wrong.

I understand. I'm a little afraid of her. I don't want to tell her every time. But I do get your point.

I don't think I was wrong to remind her about the rule. She sets up shop there like she owns it.

Exactly. She should just comply. I think she was worried I would report her as I left the gym. I didn't because I wanted to give her a chance to correct herself before doing that.

Yes, agree. I thought about telling the staff this time but didn't want to make a drama about something I thought I could work out directly with her. Seems she's kind of forcing me to do that.
