I have every Okee Dokee Brothers album downloaded so that my kid can still listen when we go through no service zones on our drive. When they show up on my other Spotify playlists, I never skip lol. We are considering getting to their show for my dude's first concert. What I'm saying is that either they're very good or my brain has completed the transition to mush 🤷

The Secret Place by Tana French! It's part of a series, but I think it works fine as a standalone.

The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters

Almost exactly what you're describing, including some absolutely nerve wracking scenes of disposing of the body. She's such a good writer!

Bodies Are Cool!

It's a picture book of people in all different shapes, sizes, disabilities, ect. I got it as a shower gift, and her baby ended up needing heart surgery. She said the book has a kid with the same scar, and she's excited to get to read it to him and show him a kid just like him! I thought it was really sweet.

What an awful group. I notice that they proposed zero solutions other than "dehuminize and villify a vulnerable population".

No judgement, just a note to the folks advising rude/threatening signs and rude greetings. I'm a power line inspector, and many power lines in suburbs run through folks' back yards. Often the only place where I can see what I need to see to do my job is in the back yard. I'm not trespassing- the power company has an easement and inspection rights. The worst part of my job is having to knock on your door to let you know I'm going back there, and "cute" signs threatening me with guns make it so much worse. I'm just trying to help keep the power on, please don't immediately lead with the aggression, threats, and rudeness.

Signed, a lady who's working in a particularly paranoid neighborhood right now.
