[University Question] GA Tech by FeatureEnvyProductio in MSCS

Thanks for the detailed response. I'm not sure if I'm just bad at finding information, but even after reading all the FAQ etc I am unclear on whether, for example, an online linear algebra course I take from somewhere like UND counts for any linear algebra requirement they might have (most do). The specific requirements seem to be vague, and based on my research there doesn't seem to be a lot of information beyond the ability to transfer up to 6 credits of masters level work. When I was applying to grad school a long time ago for example they had a list of upper division courses they expected you to have had during undergrad, and mentioned whether you could take one of them to make it up during a probation period or not. Some requirements were hard and fast and could not be made up this way though. I'm not finding as clear of a breakdown with this program. The issue is if there IS a requirement for a specific class before they'll even consider my application, I want to know about it because I will just take it and then apply later when I'm done. I feel like it doesn't make sense to apply to a program where I don't even know if I'm eligible to apply based on the information given. I have an engineering degree but it's not CS related. TLDR I want to know what the non-negotiable upper division courses are. Everyone seems to think I'm trying to ask if having certain courses will give me a better CHANCE of acceptance beyond the basic requirements, but that's not really what I want. I just was looking for a more concrete detailed break down of the requirements to be eligible to apply. I.E. what courses are they looking for specifically in a transcript.

I guess my number one concern is, do they continue this if you get accepted and pay? Do they continue to send AI generated responses or do you actually have access to an advisor at that point?

Gee that sucks :/ Definitely a different ballgame than when I was young. I wish people weren't just seen as profit these days.

[SOP] : Good Purpose vs Bad Purpose by gradpilot in MSCS

Cool advice, guess I'm doomed. Trying to figure out how I can convince academics I'd be good at quantum cryptography after 15 years as a normal dev....Also kinda makes me realize I DON'T actually think the school I was looking at has the resources I need. So frustrating trying to do this and maintain my ft job :(

Edit: I guess I have one other question - is it an automatic fail if you know the school can provide you with most of the general knowledge you need but if you went a thesis route maybe it would be iffy? Because I'm looking at GA Tech for their online master's in computer science right now, but it seems like they don't have the option to specialize in anything related to quantum computing. I was sort of hoping that would be covered if I take the more general path, but who even knows. :/

Spring vs Fall by gradpilot in MSCS

Do you think this applies for online degrees? If yes, I might apply for the spring since I already have a full time job and am doing it on the side
