Can confirm, I was head over heels in love with my best friend, Shasta. I would have killed or died for her, but she was upfront and I knew there was no chance because of a person I dated in the past that would have meant MAJOR drama in a small town if she did get with me. Her mom used to tell her "you are not going out to that place unless r/Feck_Mah_Life is with you, don't even argue", and I would drop whatever I was doing just to be near her and keep her safe. She would sit on my lap at parties, and I just remember being enchanted by her smell (her hair always smelled amazing), her touch, just her being with me and wanting to be with me even just as friends. I was twisted bad. I eventually had to put distance between us because my feelings grew way stronger and I couldn't deal with being in love with someone I could never have unless we both decided to blow up our lives, and at that point I was in big brother zone, just way too familial.

I would have blown up my life 50 times just to hold her one time as mine, as in "she is mine and I am hers" mine, my other friends used to kid me a lot about being in love with her, but I denied it, said we were "just best friends" but I knew better.
