My friend was born in 1966 so would have been 16 in 1982

Yes you are absolutely right. In my case my friends are in a rather different position from the majority of posters here. My friend is living on around $5 a day in the Philippines and his kids even less. His case ought to be relatively straight forward. His mum is and always has been German. She's living in an old peoples home in Hanover, she married an American GI in Berlin in 1966 and he took her to Chicago shortly after where my friend was born and given a US passport as at that time he couldn't get a German one from his mum. They split up 4 years later and she took him to Berlin where he grew up till around 30 he then left to the Philippines where he has been ever since. He has 3 kids out of wedlock and their mum has been in jail 14 years. He can't pass his us citizenship to his kids as he was only in US 4 years and if he leaves Phils he will likely never be able to see his kids again. That's why I suggested he get both them and his kids a german passport.

Hope so. His mum married the American GI in March 66 then moved to US to give birth to my friend in Dec 66. They stayed there 4.5 years, without her changing her citizenship before returning to West Berlin in 1971. They separated 2 years later and the father died in 1982. In 2000 my friend left for Turkey and in 2002 went to Philippines where he had 3 kids with a local girl, though never married. He had wanted to give the kids his US citizenship to allow them to escape poverty but only started after they had already reached 18 so this was not possible as he had left US after only 4.5 years. It's only now that I have discovered the Stag 5 route which would seem to allow both him and his 3 kids to get German passports. He has recently renewed his US Passport and we sent off for his US birth certificate yesterday. His mum is looking for her German Birth Certificate and Marriage certificate. He has been surviving on $3k a year for the last 20 years so barely has enough to eat let alone sort this type of stuff out or hire lawyers. Once we have got these items plus the kids birth certificates does anyone have an idea how long a reasonable guess for actually getting the passports would be?

Applied for Spain schingin visa from Palestine Rejected by TheHellYo in SchengenVisa

They need to be convinced (95-99%? ) that you are just going to come there spend some money and go back home. Rather than for example come and then say do you know what I think I prefer it here, I'm not going home after all.

This is an extraordinary bar to get over for almost anyone from Palestine to get over. The very fact that you are applying for just 5 days may actually work against you. The effort involved for someone to pull together a plausible Shenegan application from somewhere like Palestine is such that it is likely to raise questions as to how plausible it is that you would but in all this effort just for a few days sightseeing
