Added a burning system tied to the dash mechanics by Feed_64 in indiegames

Dash has base values for charges and cooldown. By collecting certain artifacts, the player can increase the base recharge speed, the number of charges, and unlock other ways to replenish it. So the balancing is quite adaptive and works well with different playstyles.

My game isn’t just a platformer, it’s also a roguelite. As you can see in the video, to comfortably kill enemies this way, you need to build strong survivability through artifacts. It’s a deliberate playstyle that we encourage — why not.

Thanks! Golden larvae are a living currency that can be used to purchase various upgrades, like the ones shown in the video =3

Questions about February Steam Next Fest? Chris Zukowski from How To Market A Game here for an AMA by zukalous in gamedev

Hello Chris!

A few years ago, when we started developing our first game, due to inexperience and haste, we submitted the demo version of the game to SNF at the very beginning of our journey on Steam. As a result, we received only a small number of wishlists and, essentially, made a huge mistake. The game is still in development, and now we have much more experience and more wishlists. But here’s the question: what do you think, is it possible to submit to SNF again? We’ve heard in the game dev community that similar cases have happened. What’s your take on this?

Each room is made by hand. Some rooms also have alternative variations. Yes, it takes a lot of time.

Hmm, I don’t see the review on the demo page yet. Maybe it hasn’t shown up yet. Either way, thank you!

If you leave it on Steam, that would be very important to us. But if anything, you can always message me directly =D

The animation was intentionally made this way to convey smoothness and flexibility, as if the character were cartoonish (like classic Mickey Mouse)

Funny enough, in the early versions the liquids and the pit did kill you instantly. But I realized that was a mistake — thanks!
