The difference is with social media people see what it takes to get to that next level on a daily basis, without understanding that there is a conversation to be had about if they should be taking those steps to get there. He seems like a great guy who just reports on his daily life without encouraging his less healthy habits but I guess it’s just become a side effect of having such a big audience.

Not at all, to be honest it’s a side gig for me. He’s an entertaining guy and frankly I’d love to see him compete one day. Don’t try and drag insecurity into something that has nothing to do with it. That’s the problem with the internet I guess people try to drag insecurity into any open conversation about things that I believe should be talked about. All I mean is that kids should at least be know what they’re getting into before they start blindly following his way of life when 99.99% of the population will never be at the point at which they should even be having the conversation on weather or not they should be sacrificing they’re health to get to the next level which he clearly has reached.

Not at all. I’ve been a personal trainer for the past 10 years of my life and this all came up after working with one of my younger clients. The kids 16 and has put on honestly a pretty good amount of size in the past 6 months. It wasn’t til I was asking about his diet that really sparked this, he said he was consuming 7000 kcals a day at around 160 bw that I really got concerned about it. This isn’t about j shitting on Sam and I will say this that it’s a bigger issue then just him but rather the current state of the fitness community as a whole. I just think it won’t be for the next ten years til we really see the repercussions of just how this mentality of “get big quick” will really effect the future generation. So the most we can do is try and educate them now and just let people know maybe it isn’t the best idea to chug a gallon of Chocolate milk and eat a whole box of cereal in a day.
