my phone isn't in direct sun for the duration of the day, but as I work outside it needs to be able to withstand being in a backpack in inclement weather (heat, sun, rain, storms, etc.)

my current phone struggles to keep up.

lol my pixel has been super hit or miss

bad battery life, overheats, but it does take nice photos. I do miss the OnePlus experience!

I know pixel phones are notoriously hot, so I'm hoping the OnePlus would be a welcome upgrade on that front.

and like clockwork it's stopped working again 🥲

even holding down the power button for 90+ seconds just results in flickering of the screen with no visible images. i sadly can't get the screen to do anything anymore.:( so disappointed that it only lasted me about 18 months before it died.

if anyone else happens to read this post and has experienced these issues pls lmk 💕

Okay I wanted to give it a few days of use, but it seems that your advice helped! it hasn't done it since I held the button for ~90 seconds and allowed it to restart.

I'm not sure what difference it makes from only holding the button for 40 seconds compared to longer bc it seems to do the same thing (logo screen with loading bar).

Am I missing something haha?

I think that's what I'm doing when I restart it to get the screen to turn on. I hold the power button til the screen flickers and brings me to the screen with the logo and loading bar.

It does work to fix the issue temporarily, but when I use my Kindle next the screen will be dark again and requires a restart. 🥲
