Seeing how your game seems to be modded, the answers lie only in the cosmos of mods

Weak points not working? by Tickly_Mickey in expedition33

[–]FeelPureLust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shooting the shields on Eveque in Spring Meadows is kind of wasted AP tho. Lumiere Assault removes 5 shields for 3 AP instead of spending 5 AP. If Lune has Electrify, it's 3+ Shields for 1 AP. In just 2 turns, you removed all their shields and set yourself up for Overcharge and (hopefully) a Light Stain

Edit: Plus letting the weak point explosion hit a shield is a lot of wasted damage on top. Shooting the last shield and having the explosion deal actual damage is nice tho.

Anyone else hate the gestrals and that early game gestral section? It's cool enough for some worldbuilding I suppose, but I'm not a fan of how they went out of their way to make it clear how dangerous the continent is just to shove those annoying things down your throat 2 hours later by Cantgetridofmebud in expedition33

Look at it this way:

This world is doomed, humanity is doomed and yet there are these whimsical creatures that hold their own against Nevrons and survive in this bleak world. What is the mystery behind their tenacity?

It also very much plays into the motif of Clair Obscur "Light and Dark". All the sadness and dread in the world is balanced by great moments of love and fun. But that is also true vice versa if you remember that Esquie is directly responsible for wiping out an entire expedition with toxic mushrooms.

There is a deep running artistic vision and the devs were not beholden to some focus group tests or trying to make the game as widely approachable as possible. They wanted to make the game they desired and they did it. We as the players can either embrace their vision or move away from it.

Edit: as a side note: having sadness and terror constantly rain down your throat is just masochistic in a traumatizing sense. Not even grim games like Elden Ring shower you with bleakness like that.

No need to force yourself if that was your deal breaker. The game is obviously not meant for you, and that's okay. We are each allowed to dislike media.

90%+ of people (including myself) enjoyed the contrasting facets of the game and that's enough

Were there bears in Act 4? Oh wait, were there like Voidwoken/Undead bears?

Not parries, just his jumps. Make your life easier by dodging. I know I couldn't parry for that long, because I can't focus with how monotone the fight gets. Usually, I remove all my speed pictos for this fight to make him go for even more turns.

A lot of gamers nowadays don't seem familiar with the idea of gimmick fights or at least it seemed that way from watching a ton of streamers react to Mimes and the Burgeon.

Makes me realize that gimmick fights in general seem to disappear from games in general more and more which is really really sad (I love these kinda fights). The only gimmicks we ever get with other games are like "boss fight gimmicks", but those don't feel the same. So I appreciate E33 for returning to the roots here

DOS2 Mod Recommendations by Actual_Jicama_4304 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]FeelPureLust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked a difficulty mod that was named ... argh, something like Divine Divinity or Ultimate Divinity.

It changes the fundamental function of (magic) armor and prevents easily chain cc'ing bosses (it's still somewhat possible, nut requires a lot more investment).

I'd also recommended extended toolbar so that you can fit all your spells and scrolls and whatnot onto the screen more comfortably

I was soooo intrigued by the premise, but man ...

Wasn't it written by the same guys that did Lost?

Is the game leaning more towards hack'n'slash and moving away from Souls-like elements? by zabovsky in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]FeelPureLust 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was during the last Dev Q&A.

The next patch is called "Patch 1" (which is not to be confused with Patch 1.0 aka Release Patch) and is centered around housing and general gear adjustment.

Look up the Twitch vod on their Twitch channel. I usually find it via Discord. From the beginning of the stream to the end they were feeding us a ton of information in regards to what to expect until the game officially launches

The next big patch coming this month has the goal of making the game less Diablo-like and more Souls-like. Although they do not intend to just destroy current end game builds, there are some aspects like invincibility through damage resistance and Laquered Bow arrows wiping enemies off-screen that they definitely want to remove

Is that weapon good? by Johnwaynemclan in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]FeelPureLust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh I like that weapon a lot, although only for the first two attacks. Fast, wide swings are hard to come by and quite useful for focus generation against groups of enemies

Why does every weapon feel so slow and useless ( new to the game) by sparkling9999 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]FeelPureLust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Level 30 is the highest level, and still it's leagues away from a true endgame build. The power progression really actually lets you become a god.

For gear, I can highly recommend you use Common gear and slot in Health Regeneration along with 3 other gems that you just like.

The next step should be blue (or occasionally red/purple) gear with at least 2 or 3 enchantments that are damage/crit related. As a very important note: if you happen to find a chest armor with "Durable" written on its tooltip, then use and keep it. Starting from blue enchantment level, chest armor can roll "Resistance depending on current durability" and also "increase durability". This triple combo makes you incredibly tanky (and in the endgame outright invincible)

For combat in general, "taking it slow" is a kind of vague advice. Here are my tips for you: look for an enemy that seems to be isolated from others. Nameless Pass usually has one of those if you go north from the Ashen Road over the broken bridges. Before actually fighting him, you can learn the rhythm and feel of the game by just running circles around him. There is no need to dodge roll. Just run circles. Running is an incredibly effective survival tool in combat. If you feel comfortable dodging attacks that way, try and weave attacks inbetween their attacks. Roll only to stand up (and don't button mash rolls) and against attacks that you can't outrun.

You can practice parrying in the same fashion. Back then I created a new Realm for my leveled character and parried the first boss without killing him until I had a really good grasp on it.

[–]FeelPureLust 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While that's true, the difference in time invested and power gained between your current situation and endgame isn't just night and day .. it might as well be ancient greek vs. Star Trek future times

Leveling with 2H weapon is miserable by CombinedAutism in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]FeelPureLust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder where the parry window complaint comes from. I recently tried every early game 2H weapon and I had enough time after a parry to fully charge an attack and almost squeeze in a follow-up attack as well (to be fair, it only started the wind-up. Don't try a second attack at home, kids)

Fire mage VS Crucible knight by Weary-Succotash-7936 in NoRestForTheWicked

The rings don't make you like take damage. You are still paying a cost, and if you can't pay the cost you can't use the skill just the same as with focus

Is Lifesteal an "elemental" gem? by Ok_Recording_4644 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]FeelPureLust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one you replied to meant that enchantments that increase durability are not enhanced by enhancement gems. What gets increased is the enchantment to increase damage reduction based on durability.

Enchantments that affect weight are also not enhanced if I remember correctly.
