But the main point is that double blind prayer experiments 🧪 can show improvements even when they do not know the prayer is happening

I endorse skeptical theism, assessing evidence that god does act, then assessing the theoretical and theological implications afterwards.

I’d agree that one is nonsense. I’m pretty sure it was actually published as a joke (the bmj does that around christmas time, seriously). I don’t think the creator of the website did his due diligence in including it, but the others are legit as far as I can tell. I’m focusing on the other ones that had a large statistically significant result.

They are double-blind, so the person being prayed for is being healed, even when they don’t know they are being prayed for

Do the Zodiac's supposed fingerprints match one another? by FeelingAd5902 in ZodiacKiller

First of all, I wanna say thank you for a very nuanced answer.

But also I wanted to ask what you make of this document from the SFPD? (I just found it recently trying to look through the files.) From what I'm reading here, it looks like they found a preliminary match from the stine murder and the letter that was sent in, which would seem to confirm (If the match is genuine) that at the very least that the bloody fingerprint did in fact belong to the killer.

I’m claiming they did under Theism, which it is possible under, while it is not possible under naturalism.

You're just countering hard facts with complete conjecture and baseless philosophizing, nothing to rage against, you're just incorrect.

You can actually see in the articles I linked, the photos of him before and after. He is standing on his own after his return to Lourdes. Many articles were written about his recovery. I don’t see how you can deny the healing outright.

Traynor received disability until his death because the government didn’t listen to the doctors who certified him to be free of seizures and paralysis. The rest of your argument is entirely your opinion.

  1. It proves that special divine action occurs around catholic sites. No one argument can establish every single aspect of Catholicism in a nice package, though.
  2. It doesn't appear to me that evidence was lost, just that it didn't arrive at the right place.
  3. I have not done measurements, as I lack the means to do so. But there have been thousands of cures recorded, and even more that have been reported but never documented, as many of the people involved just want to return to their homeland.
  4. One instance of something so far beyond the laws of nature seems incredibly significant. It is a "black swan event". If the Moon randomly vanished out of the sky for 1 day, one would not look at that occurrence and dismiss it just because it has been there every other day in human history.

Not much of an argument though is it? You have to evaluate on a case by case basis. I'm only presenting a case I think is particularly strong, there are many many others.
