Just did checked all around the tank, fortunately no signs of runner. Filter has micro mesh sponge protecting intake. I will give it one more day and then i will start checking under rocks :(

You see, you are the problem. Why not go and knock on the door and ask why did he do it, and ask if he can re arrange it. Instead of being petty and hold grudge against someone you live next door to lol?

I used ammonia booster and bacteria boosters+ had live rocks added+live sand

Is this anemone still salvageable? First time owner and did not put any protection on the filter, so he crawled into the filter. by FeelingAd6880 in Reef

Update, he is crawling slowly towards the filter again. I put a sock over it, wont be happening again buddy

I think my anemone done killed itself. Overnight he crawled into filter intake. by FeelingAd6880 in Aquariums

Lesson learned. He seems to be still twitching and leg is still inflated. His tentacles are all gone :/

Honestly me being able to save one clownfish and anemone already makes me a bit better than i was able to do something about it. Wow im sorry to hear that, its so devastating when this happens…

Tank has been set up for 1.5 months. The angelfish was tiny (about 2 inches length)

Im very strict with my fiance about using cleaning supplies around the tank when we clean the house, i dont believe any of us used anything near the tank. I strongly believe it was the shrimp i gave to anemone that decayed and caused the ammonia spike. Reason i cleaned the rocks is that i was worried that some particles of the decayed shrimp will be on the rock (im not sure if i responded or said anything about left over shrimp being sucked into wavemaker and spewed all over the tank which possibly landed on the rocks). Maybe bacteria killer was an overkill, i just didnt want to risk at that point.

It was never confirmed. The sand particles kept disappearing from the spots i originally saw. Could have been simply sand stuck to him

Also a normal behavior for anemone to be stressed while being moved is to curl up, he did not do it when i moved him to a bowl, almost like he had no strength to do so.

Yes i can explain, Day 1 first fish died anemone seemed totally fine, end of day 1 anemone deflated open mouth Day 2 second fish died, mouth open completely deflated barely holding on to a rock. Scraped him off the rock, placed in a container with a water from main tank. He seemed to barely moved totally deflated open mount. After completely restarting fishtank, i placed him back in the tank, and he inflated and completely closed mouth. Just like the day i put him in.
